Lenora never met her real parents and the family that adopted her died in a terrible accident, leaving her to grow up with the sweet old couple who lived next door, who were more than happy to have the little 6 years girl to raise.

"Huh?"
"Hi, Len!"
"Lenora."
The young witch waved at her teachers, not fully understanding what Kayama was doing there. It was one of hers and Aizawa's late training to try to control her dark side, with the only difference that for that the Pro decided she would try to summon Dark Matter for that night. So, Miss. Midnight in her comfy clothes and with a bag of treats was the last thing she expected.
Aizawa motioned to the woman on his side, "Miss. Midnight insisted to be here today."
Kayama dropped the formalities hugging Len, rocking her back and forth, "My kid! You're progressing so fast that I'm not able to see you cross one finish line after the other!"
Lenora melted inside the warmth of her body, inhaling her strong roses' scent. That was one of Len's favorite things about the woman: she always smelled like a flower shop during spring, making her feel inside the heart of a living forest, cuddled by its roots, the sun, and the bright colors of the plants. Kayama felt like a modern mother nature in Len's eyes, so she was glad she was making her proud.
"Thank you, Kayama", burying her nose deeper in her blue navy hair, Len was back when she was six and just discovered what she could do with a simple draw. That day was still fixed in her mind; how Kayama's glasses almost fell from her nose from the shock, the drowned books, how the librarian scolded both of them the moment after the waterfall, and how from that her hero journey started.
If it wasn't for Midnight, Len would've found out her powers? She was highly convinced that destiny would always find its way to reach out, but Len was glad her 'destiny' had a name.
"Kid, we must start. Now. I'm not willing to go to bed at 3 also tonight", Aizawa had patiently waited behind the two girls until then, knowing they needed that time for themselves. But they weren't there to chat and the hero path was long and hard, so they couldn't waste either one more second.
Kayama squeezed Len a last time, letting her go right after, walking backward toward her colleague, "Grumpy man is right! It's your moment, girl!"
Lenora nodded, smiling, "Yeah."
She took a step back, cracking her neck. First thing, breathing control. Easy.
Breathe in, breathe out, two times.
Second thing, remember yourself.
Who you are? Lenora.
Why are you here? To become a Hero.
For what are you fighting? Love. Protect. Win.
How will you do it? I'll summon...
"Dark Matter", a voice that wasn't hers spoke. Lenora was aware of her head twisting this time, but she didn't feel pain. Shots of dark smoke rapidly invaded her, wrapping its cold fingers around her arms, her legs, her torso, and her hair, engulfing her figure until she disappeared, leaving Dark Matter to replace her.
