If someone would've told Izuku one day he would fight beside his best friends into a world war against the biggest villain in the heroes' society, he would've laughed at those people's faces.

He had a dream: he wanted to be a great hero like All Might. He wasn't ready to face such responsibilities, or at least not while still going to high school. He wanted to grow up, study, train, to play, sing, dance, to live his teenage life with the people he loved the most.

He had his mind on his goals and Lenora was always within easy reach, in every thought he had. The girl was there during his hard times, his happy ones when he didn't have a quirk, she was the only one who truly believed in his potential; she was sure he would be a hero, no matter how, no matter when he would be able to overcome his biggest dream. But what was hers? What was her dream? He never pondered about that.

Sure, she wanted to be a hero, but Izuku felt that deep inside, that was just a part of her dream life. So, why was she doing all that? Did he ever ask her that question?

He did.

He remembered it.

He did when they started living in the dorms.

But her answer was so bizarre that the doubt remained in his mind.

It was one of the latest hot days of September and they were laying on Len's bed, their legs tangled despite the high temperatures. Izuku could still recall how she was dressed: she had no pants and one of Sero's baggy shirts that covered her body almost like a short dress, short white socks with the sentence 'You can do it' and Shrek's face on them. He had his 'Thursday shirt' on, his All Might branded shorts, and match socks with the girl, his face turned to the open window, catching the low breeze coming from it, the sun slowly setting down and painting orange the sky.

"This summer feels endless", Lenora's voice seemed so far, her long hair sprawled on the pillows dancing in the wind.

"Agree," Izuku snatched one of her feet, giving it a light massage, "but it's pretty. I like summertime."

"I know you do," she smiled, relaxing under his touch.

"I don't understand how you like autumn though," his eyes closed, his face scrunched up thinking about the incoming season, "everything is so brown, rainy, foggy."

"Yeah, but autumn sunny days are the most beautiful ones," she sighed, her eyes fluttering open, "imagine waking up and expecting a cloudy day, just to watch outside the window and a marvelous warm sun greeting you with its rays. No fog. No grey. Just leaves slow dancing around you. Brown, orange, yellow, red. Everything is brighter in the sun, and you can smile, breathe deeply the fresh air, and...live. You start living."

Izuku followed her voice, and his mind automatically projected that scenario under his closed lids, "How you see life even in the dead blows my mind."

"It's my way to cope with it," she smiled, raising her torso, sitting down between Izuku's legs, "death is not the finish line. I want to believe it's the start of something new."
