While Class A was training hard for the upcoming battle, at Ines' household the well-known trio was eating a nice and warm soup at the kitchen table, everyone looking drained out.
"I feel like shit."
"Language at the table."
Lenora thought about it, "Me siento una mierda?", she tried again.
"Lenora, I don't think..."
"That's better", Ines approved, leaving Aizawa speechless. What did he expect?
Len was at the table with her left shoulder pressed against Aizawa's right one, their chairs so close that the wood were brushing together. Ines felt a rush of envy invading her; she wished she could be the one Lenora would lean to when she was feeling bad. But it was fair she wasn't that person. She made the decision not to be a long time before.
"Ines told me you trained hard", he gallantly finished his meal, placing the spoon in the bowl right after.
Lenora slurped down directly from the bowl what remained of the soup, "Yup, I'm even more badass now, y'know?"
"First, that was disgusting, I already told you a hundred times not to do that," Aizawa pointed at how she ate, "second, I have no doubts you grew up this month. At least did you take some days off to completely recover?"
"Of course."
"Lenora."
"No, sorry."
"You're incredible."
"Thanks!"
"Wasn't a compliment."
"Ouch."
"So," Ines stood up to recollect the dishes, and the utensils and left only the glasses on the table, "since we're talking about your quirk, care to explain what happened the other night? It scared me to dead!"
Len slowly helped her, Aizawa doing the same until they all finished the chore, taking the glasses and moving to the living room together. Ines moved the armchair beside the couch, plopping down on it, leaving the other two to take place on the soft couch.
"I don't know, what I'm about to say is just a hypothesis I made up," Lenora got her hands on, "two days ago Shigaraki fought the American Hero Stars, right?", she searched for Aizawa's approval, and he nodded, "You told me her quirk turned against him, yeah? Well, I think I felt his pain. I was burning from the inside, but I know it wasn't my pain. That's all I remember before passing out and waking up near mine and Tenko's old house. Shigaraki was there or Tenko, I don't know with who I was talking, but that's not the point. We spoke and saw a memory. He was watching the scene, confused like he couldn't figure out what was going on, so I explained what day that was. While I was retracing that for him, I discovered something my brain erased for lots of years. I drew a run on Tenko's leg and Shigaraki showed me how he still had that rune, which he carved into his skin to keep it always with him. And that...that flickered something up in my mind...", she tried to explain at her best, knowing how scrappy that sounded.
