Chapter 18

Bucky

   Yn is across the road behind a different car, they were after her again
   There was a sniper on the bridge and a few more gunshots coming from everywhere else
   "Yn how many can you see?" I talk through the earpiece
   "At least 5, how many do you have?" She asks back
   "I'm seeing 6, there's one on the bridge too"
   "On my signal run to me, run fast"
   She picks up the 5 she saw and controlled their minds, making them all shoot each other
   "Now!" She gets 4 that were on the road and the sniper
   The other 2 shoot at me while I run to her, I make it and sit down behind the car for cover
   "Shit Bucky" she points at a gunshot on my ribs
   "Okay we need back up" I say
   "Way ahead of ya" Wanda and Sam come in and get the other 2 then a few more we couldn't see
   "Sam Bucky has At least one shot to his ribs, can you get him out of here, Wanda and I will take care of the rest" yn says through the earpiece
   Sam swoops down, looks at my ribs, and we fly up in the air
   "I'll be in the hospital room when you wake up, okay Buck?" Yn says through the ear piece while looking at Sam and I
   "Okay doll" I respond and smile as Sam flies off with me
We fly for about 3 minutes then arrive at the compound
Yn beat us there with Wanda and yn helped carry me in
Sam had my left side, yn had my right and she put pressure on my wound as they walked me in
"Wanda get Tony!" Yn yelled
Yn knew it was in a fatal spot, that's why she was hurrying so bad, Sam and Wanda just got there so they couldn't have known
The medical team came and hauled me into the surgery room making everyone stay but yn and Tony who had came with the team
They started giving me the gas, yn by my side, holding my hand

I woke up with yn holding my hand and sleeping in a chair next to my bed with her head laying on the bed
I didn't want to wake her up so I just laid there and rubbed her hand with my thumb
Sam walked in not long after, before he said anything I put my finger to my lips making sure he didn't wake her up either
Sam smiled and stood on the opposite side to yn and whispered to me, "how ya feeling?"
"Better" I whisper back
"You probably scared her half to death" Sam and I continue to whisper
"She does that to me on a daily basis"
He laughs and tries to stay quiet but it was loud, luckily she didn't wake up though
"You broke 3 ribs and one of them punctured your lung, you almost died" sam says
"Yeah, close call"
Yn yawns and rubs her eyes, "oh you're awake" she says and fixes her hair
"So are you" I smile
"How ya feeling?" She asks
"Good, Sam can you" I gesture to him to give us a minute
"Why'd you do that?" She asks
"The baby thing, how's that going?"
She smiles big and squeezes my hand, "I have a really good feeling, I took one about half an hour ago but haven't looked yet, I've been waiting for you" her cheeks are a rosy red
She walks into the bathroom and grabs it, she put it in a box so she won't be able to see it
"Open it" I say
She sits next to me on the bed and opens it, she starts crying then hugs me
"You're gonna be a dad Bucky Barnes" she whispers in my ear sobbing
I'm stunned and happy, a few tears escape my eyes while my face is buried in yn's shoulder
We sit in the hug for awhile, then I cup her face and kiss her
She smiles into the kiss, her arms draped around my neck
"I love you so much" she says and looks at me then the test and her smile just gets bigger
Sam walks back in, yn hides the test behind her, "oh yn you don't need to hide it" Sam laughs
"What?" Yn says
"Your thoughts are kinda loud" Sam crosses his arms
Yn's smile drops and she closes her eyes to collect her thoughts
"How loud we're they?" Yn asks
"Not that loud" Sam answers
"Congratulations you two" Sam continues
Yn smiles,"thank you Sam"
He walks over to the side yn is sitting on and hugs her
Yn looks at the test again and her eyes glow at the sight of the 2 lines saying she's pregnant
She stands up, "i'm gonna get into other clothes if you don't mind" she was still wearing her suit
Once she walked out, so did Sam buy the doctor came in after
Before she said anything, she checked my vitals and blood pressure
"How are you feeling James?" She asked and started waiting on her clipboard
"Better than yesterday" I laugh but it hurts so I stop
"Yeah I would try not to laugh or do any activities that causes your breathing to increase" she suggests
"Alright, is that it?" I ask
"Just about but you will need to change your bandages every 12 hours and take pain pills every 6 hours" she adds
She hands me a few pieces of paper work, "have your wife fill these out" she says and leaves
I look through the papers and see why she said yn needed to do it, she knows more of my medical history than I do
Yn walks back in, wearing a turtle neck shirt, black leggings, brown tall leather heeled boots, a yellow cardigan that went down to her knees, and a chunky brown glass necklace
"Is that comfy for you?" I ask
"Comfier than my suit" she laughs
I hand her the papers, "the doctor wanted you to fill those out"
"These are about you" she says as she flips through the papers
"Her words" I put my hands up as if I'm innocent
"Hmm okay I'll do that when we get home" she puts the papers in a folder that was on counter
"She didn't say when I could leave" I say
She walks to the side of my bed and hits the call nurse button hanging on the wall
A nurse walks in about 30 seconds later, "how can I help you two?" She politely asks
"Can we get his release forms please" yn asks the nurse
"Of course ma'am, are you his wife or mother?" The nurse asks
"His wife" she answers and the nurse walks out, returning with the papers a minute or two later
"Thank you" yn says and starts filling out the papers
Yn fills out the papers and leaves them on the table to bring me clothes she grabbed from home when she went earlier
She helps me stand up by holding my hands and keeping my torso in place with her telekinesis, she pulls me carefully and guides me onto my feet
She walks me into the bathroom and lets me get dressed
She brought me jeans, my boots, a long sleeve grey shirt with my black leather jacket
I struggle to walk to the door of the bathroom, but open it and yn walks over to help me
"I don't need help" I say
"Bucky you don't need to be tough, you almost died, I get it" she explains
"Whatever you say doll" I let her win
She grabs my stuff and all the papers then hands me a cane
"I'm not using that" I say
"Just until we get to the front desk so I get an extra hand"
"I got it, trust me"
"James"
"I'll be fine" I walk over to her and kiss her forehead
"Okay" she puts the cane back and follows me out of the door
We walk to the front desk so yn can turn in my release forms
We walk to her car, she of course helps me in, again holding my torso in place with her powers
We drive to the pharmacy to grab her prescription and my pain pills
"I scheduled a doctors appointment for us to figure out how long I've been pregnant and if we can find them" she says smiling
"I'm going with right?" I ask
"That's why I said us buck" she says
"Okay when is it?" I ask
"The day after tomorrow"
"Oh"
"I could heal you at home"
"You said you didn't think you could do that"
"I'm sure if I tried I could"
"I'll be fine"
"She said it was the only time she could get us this month because someone just cancelled"
I stay quiet because every time I yell a little bit I pull too much air out of my lungs, making them compress and move my rib
