Chapter 44

Bucky

The girls got back from their run and immediately rummaged through the kitchen for food
Yn plopped on the couch next to me and did a hard sigh
"Did you have a good run?" I ask
Yn laughs and the girls stop looking for food and turn to me
"Mom is trying to kill us" Sage says very dramatically
I laugh with yn, "I'll go with you tomorrow, later in the day"
"Yay- wait we have to do it tomorrow?" Sadie celebrated her short victory
"If you don't go with your dad, you're going with me again" yn says
The girls sigh aggressively and walk to their rooms with their food in hand
Yn smiles at me as the girls close their doors, I smile back
"How far did you go?" I ask and she puts her legs over one of my knees
"3 miles" she laughs and takes a drink out of her water bottle she had set on the coffee table when they came in
"You are trying to kill them" I joke and we sit in the calm silence, watching the movie I put on
We go about 20 minutes before I notice she fell asleep
I gently move her legs off me, and walk over to the girls rooms
I peek my head into Sadie's cracked door, "your mom is taking a nap, be quiet please" I say
Sadie laughs, "tell sage" I'm guessing whenever we hear them talking, it's Sage
I walk over and knock on Sage's door, "come in" she yells
I poke my head in, "stay quiet please, your mom is taking a nap" I whisper and leave
Yn is cuddled up next to the arm of the couch, her legs now up to her chest
I gently pick her up and walk her upstairs to our room
I lay her on her side of the bed, her body limp but warm
Recently she's been looking more and more peaceful in her sleep
She hasn't said anything about having more nightmares these past few weeks
I'll ask her when she wakes up, maybe she hasn't been telling me, or it hasn't woken me up in the middle of the night when she has them
I kiss the top of her head and close the door to let her sleep
I continue sitting there on the couch, with Zoey, watching horror movies
Sadie comes out of her room and sits next to me but doesn't say anything
"What's up" I ask as she leans on my shoulder, laying her head down
"I wanted to hang out with you" she says and just watches the movie
I go with it and don't say anything, they usually didn't want to hang out with us
Sadie hangs out with us more than Sage, Sage just talks to her boyfriend and scrolls through TikTok
Sadie mostly hung out with yn, they were closer mentally
We watched the horror movie 'Annabelle', Sadie found it scary at certain parts but she didn't jump much
We continued watching a bunch of different horror movies, like 'the conjuring', 'IT', 'scream', and a few more
It was about 6:30 pm, so I decided to see if yn was awake, so she can sleep tonight
I walk upstairs, open the door and see her still sleeping in the same position
I kiss her cheek, "yn~" I whisper in her ear, and see goosebumps rise on her skin
"Hmm" she rolls over and I kiss her on the lips, she smiles
"What time is it?" She asks and pats around the bed looking for her phone
"6:30" I say and hand her, her phone, which was sitting on her nightstand
She sits up and pats my side of the bed, offering for me to sit next to her
I climb on the bed and sit next to her, "how did you sleep darling?" I ask
"Good" her eyes glow and I look to her wrists, looking for the bracelets
She had them on but all of her power was stopped by them, even her eyes
I see a red light blinking on the left bracelet, either it's dying or broken
"What?" She noticed a wasn't looking at her face
"The bracelet is blinking" I say and she puts her hand out so I can look at it
It doesn't look broken and the battery light was green
   "What?" She asks again, wondering why I was even looking in the first place
   "Your eyes glowed" I say, still looking at the bracelets
   "Maybe it's just that" she shrugs her shoulders and brings her hands back to her lap
   "I'm sorry I just don't want you to go back there, everyone is on the edge of sentencing you for everything"  I apologize and explain
"Buck I won't, I promised" she sets her hand gently on mine
She smiles at me, assuring me she's serious and she won't fuck up again
"Sadie was watching movies with me, willingly" I tell her
"She does sometimes, but you should get sage to" she laughs
"That's impossible" I say as she leans into my shoulder
"You should shower" she says bluntly and I hear her sniff me
"Rude, you should too" I stand up and pull her hand with me
We walk to the bathroom and she starts the shower
One of the girls walk upstairs, we hear their footsteps
I open the door and it's Sadie, "can I order pizza?" She asks
"Yeah, there's a $20 in my wallet on the counter" I say
Sadie's steps faded the further she went away, I closed the bathroom door and turn back around to yn
"You showering with me or are you just gonna watch?" She jokes
I walk over and kiss her, she then takes my shirt off, but I take the rest off
She gets in the shower a minute or two before me, which gives her a minute to warm up
I get in and see her washing her hair, when it was wet, her hair touched the back of her thighs
She smiled up at me when she opened her eyes back up
We didn't say much, but we moved like we were, when she moved out of the water, I moved in, and when I moved away from it, she moved towards it
