Chapter 30

Bucky

Yn has been better since she got meds and she's kept the gloves on willingly
All of us have tried to show her who she is and we've kept her calm
She's also had less nightmares and been happier
I laid in bed for awhile, I heard the kids getting food and watching tv
I waited for yn to get up to leave the bed, but I was only up for about an hour before she woke up
She rolled over to look at me then put her hand out, asking for her meds
I handed her, her meds and the glass of water I got last night
"Good morning doll" I say
"Good morning buck" she stands up and walks to the bathroom
I hear her cough twice then vomit again, the first time was probably around 6 am
I walk into the bathroom, "everything okay?" I ask
"I think I'm pregnant" she sits down and wipes her mouth with the towel that was sitting on the rack next to her
"Do you want me to run to the store?" I ask
"Yes please, grab acid reducer too" she throws up again
I see sage on the counter, reaching for the cereal, so I walk over and make her a bowl of cereal
"I'm gonna run to the store, mamas in her room if you need her" I say to sage
"Okay daddy" she smiles and drops cereal on the floor in the process of eating it
Zoey zooms over and eats whatever she dropped on the floor and waits there in case she drops more
I walk out the door and start the car, yn's music turns on because she was driving last
My eardrums were immediately blasted with rock music
I turn the music down and drive to the store, I decided while I was there I would grab groceries
When I was checking out, the cashier gave me a weird look
I just ignored it and left, when I got home I heard the bath running, I assumed it was yn and I technically wasn't wrong
Sage spilled milk all over her self and yn was running the bath for her
Yn looked tired as she sat on the bathroom floor, waiting for the tub to fill
I sat next to her, the box of pregnancy tests in my hand
She leans her head on my shoulder and I hand her the box
"Do you want another one?" She asks
"Yes but not if you don't" I say
"Maybe this one will be a boy" she laughs
Her laugh is genuine, I don't hear it often but when I do I hope I hear it more
"Okay go get sage while I take one of these" she ushers me out of the door
I get sage from the towel she was standing on in the kitchen watching tv
"Why are you standing on a towel?" I ask
"Mama seemed tired and I didn't want her to have to clean up my mess" Sage says so innocently
"Good job honey" I wrap the towel around her and throw her over my shoulder, making her laugh
Yn opens the bathroom door, I see the test sitting on the counter
I handed sage to yn, who unwrapped her and we let her get undressed by closing the door
"Yell if you need anything baby" yn said through the door
She turns around to face me and she just hugs me
"Carry me to bed" she mumbles into my chest
She wraps her legs around my waist and I carry her upstarts
I lay her down and cover her up, she smiles at me and grabs my hand
"Lay with me" she says softly
I crawl into bed next to her and she snuggles into my side
Her hair was tied up in a loose bun, and she had mascara stains around her eyes
She was wearing a purple hoodie with my grey, baggy sweatpants
One thing she wore everyday that she didn't know I noticed was her necklace, it was the necklace I got her the moment I escaped and I gave it to her the minute we found each other again
It was stainless steel and the charm was a yellow sapphire
Her nails were painted a teal blue and they were chipped at the ends
I was looking at all of her features I didn't notice she had fallen asleep
Sadie came in, and saw yn asleep so she stayed quiet, "are you going out tonight?" She whispers
"I'll ask when she wakes up" I whisper back, accidentally waking her up slightly
"Today is a chill day" she mumbles into the side of my chest
"Can we order pizza for dinner?" Sadie asks
"Yes I'll order it after my nap" yn mumbles again
Sadie smiles and leaves, "I'll be right back" she slips out of the bed and comes back with the test about 45 seconds later
She smiles then hands it to me, I look and it says pregnant
"Hopefully this one is a boy" she kisses me
She crawls back into bed and snuggles up to my side again, falling asleep not long after
I lay there, letting her sleep on my side and I think about the new baby
Yn has had a past of miscarriages and we got lucky with the first two, especially Sadie
What if this one doesn't make it, last time we almost had a boy, it died not long before the due date
This one could also be another girl, the other two are great but their power is almost as strong as yn's
The third could be stronger than her, but it could also be less, unlikely
I sat there and thought about every bad or good thing that baby could bring
My train of thought only stopped when yn sprung awake, heavy breathing and sweaty
"Hey, are you okay? What happened?" I hug her as she catches her breath
"I- I ca- I can't have another baby" she stutters
"Why not?" I ask
"It would kill me" she looks me in the eyes so I know she's serious
"How would it kill you?" I ask
"She would be stronger, and she would blame me and I would be overpowered" her voice is shaky
"I can't have this baby buck" tears start to swell up in her eyes
"I'm not gonna make you" I cup her cheeks in my hands
The tears flow down her cheeks and she shows me what she saw
When she showed it to me, I felt it too, it was the feeling of dying, but it didn't hurt her as bad as me, she had felt death before
