Paris' POV
"PARIS, would you like to give it a try?" Tanong sa akin ni Victor.
"Mr. Vanderburg?" Taas kilay na tanong ko sa kanya. Why does it feel that this old man is testing my capacity?
"Just call me Victor." Pagtatama naman nito sa akin.
"Chief? What are you talking about?" Biglang saad ng lalaking kanina pa galit sa mga IT members.
Nilingon naman ito ni Victor. "Garwyn, I'm sending help." Tugon ni Victor na tila hindi iyon isang malaking bagay.
Marahas na lumipat ang tingin sa akin ng lalaking tinawag na Garwyn. Naningkit ang mga mata nito nang makita ako.
"You want this little girl to play in this most crucial time?" Tunog pangmamaliit ang bumaha sa buong silid. Kahit ang mga members ng IT ay sobrang tahimik na at wala nang balak na umimik.
I don't easily get offended even before. I usually ignore things even the most annoying ones. There is always prejudice against people who are young or their gender. This world is filled with chauvinistic men who think women are inferior in every single thing.
Women might not be dominant in everything but it doesn't mean that we cannot surpass men in some areas.
"She can just give it a try. I did not say to let her solve your problem." He's starting to play his mind games. Victor is a sly and cunning man who will the mind of a person.
"Oh for Christ's sake Victor, this is not a playground. This is my turf. I don't want her to make more mess, " saradong saad nito. Based on his intonation, he wouldn't let me touch the computer.
"Does it change if we mess a messed up place?" Victor was being sarcastic while shooting sharp glares toward Garwyn. Inilipat naman niya ang tingin sa akin. "How confident are you about this situation?"
Nakatingin lang ako sa screen at pinag-aaralan ang movement ng red dots. All of these 5 hackers seem to be from U-13. Their attacks are stable and unshakable. These IT people will be at their wit's end.
"Give me a laptop," saad ko. Ayokong magbitiw ng salita. I just want them to see the result and know my answer.
"No! You are not going to touch any of the computers here! What do you know? You think because you know a little about hacking, you can solve this?" Garwyn roared at me.
My expression turned grim. I may be hypnotized a few hours ago but it doesn't mean that I no longer can get angry. I am pissed at how he's trying to degrade me.
If a person was cornered, he will ask for all possible help. But this man is different. Wala nang magawa ang IT team niya pero ayaw niyang tumanggap ng tulong sa iba. What is his goal? Does he want this institute destroyed?
"Then if I can, will you shut up?" Inis na tanong ko kay Garwyn.
He was surprised by my remarks. Hindi niya inasahan na sasagot ako sa ganitong paraan.
"You can use my laptop." Biglang lapit ni Steven sabay abot sa akin ang isang silver na laptop.
"Steven!" Garwyn shouted. He's livid.
"We are on the verge of peril, Sir. I will take responsibility after this." Mahinahon na saad ni Steven.
"Hand me your resignation after this!" Galit na saad ni Garwyin kay Steven.
Nakita ko kung paanong nanlumo si Steven ngunit tumango siya kay Garwyn. Sumangayon siya sa gusto nito kahit nakataya pa ang ang kanyang trabaho.
"But if I solve this, are you the one who will hand over the resignation letter instead of Steven?" I asked in a lazy tone. Binuksan ni Steven ang kanyang laptop at nagtype ng password para ma-unlock ito.
