Walking around and 'keeping watch' wasn't cutting it.

Rosita was right. I'd never felt so useless. So.. stuck.

The others were going to finish the fight. Mom demanded that she go along. I couldn't because of a stupid broken bone.

Josh and Anna swore to keep mom safe. So, I stayed at Hilltop and promised to kee our home safe.

"Hey, uh.. Ellie?"

I look at the Savior that mom had prisoner.

"I'm Alden," he sticks his hand out.

My eyes trace him up and down. Then, I shake my head like asking him 'and?'.

"I just wanted to thank you. You and your mom really are good people. I can tell. And if anything happens here while they're finishing this, I'll more than gladly help you protect this place."

"Yeah. Ok," I scoff and walk away.

I catch up to Tara who was still holding her injured arm and trying to work out the pain.

"Still alive?" I ask her.

"I'm kicking," she confirms. "You?"

I look at my arm and glare at the cast that Siddiq put on. "Kicking, but not allowed to swing."

"Saviors!" Kal screams from teh watch post.

"Shit," Tara curses.

I knew it.

"I planned for this," I hurry. "Get everyone to the escape hatch."

"And you?"

"I'm going with you," I assure. "Let's go."

Tara and I speedily run through Hilltop and gather everyone.

"Gregory," Enid remembers as she picks up the baby Rick found at a Savior outpost.

There it is.

"I've got him," I tell them. "Go. Get everyone else out, I'll meet you at the rendezvous point."

"Ellie," Tara warns.

"It's fine. I'll get him and we'll take the back route," I argue. "Go!"

"If you're not there in thirty minutes, I'm coming after you. Understood?" Tara says.

"Understood, now go!"

They run off. I take dad's gun out and smile. I make sure they're all out of the escape hatch before running back between the trailers.

Then, the gates open and Saviors walk in.

I attach the silencer and duck under a porch.

Just a little closer..

"This place is empty.. Search everywhere!" a man shouts.

I pull the rigger and shoot him in the temple.

At once, the Saviors draw their guns. Some kneel to the ground for protection.

Another shot. Another kill. Two.

"Where the hell is that coming from?" one asks.

Three. Four.

"Hit the west wall!"

They fire their weapons blindly.

Five. Six. Seven. Eight.

My gun clicks. I reload it quickly.

"There! Under the stairs!"

Shit.

I duck just as a Savior shoots at me. Another shot fires and hits the step in front of my chest.
