"Hey!" the woman calls.

"Negan," I warn, pointed and stern.

"Ellie-" he tries.

"Shut up!" I hiss. "Knees! Now!"

"Ellie, those soldiers will hear us," Josh reminds.

"I don't give a shit."

"Well, we do! You're gonna get us all killed," he pushes.

"Who the hell do you think you-" the woman starts.

I rush forward and clock Negan against the side of the face with the gun. The woman grabs my shoulder, but Anna intercepts with her arm and shoves the woman backward, guarding me.

Negan falls to the ground, covering his cheek where I'd hit him. I glance back at the woman.

The pieces fall together when I see her face.

She was the woman in the photos on Negan's bedroom wall. I look back at Negan. He was still holding his face- and there's where I saw the wedding band on his finger.

My eyebrow quirks up as I figure it all out.

Negan's eyes flash in realization. He shakes his head.

I walk backward until I'm close to the woman.

I turn around and shove the woman hard against the wall. She tries to hit me, but I slam her hand against the wall until she drops her gun.

"No!" Negan cries out, but Anna holds a gun to his head before he can move.

Anna and I were still working in perfect synchronicity. My blood was boiling. My skin was crawling.

I place my gun under the woman's chin and couldn't help but smile.

"Suddenly, I think that the Commonwealth isn't such a bad place," I note.

"Who are you?" the woman asks through gritted teeth.

I lean in closer until we could feel each other's breath.

"You already know who I am," I state.

If my gut was right, Negan was married to this woman. And that meant that he had told her everything.

And I've spent too goddamn long making sure that Negan knew who I was for him to not tell everyone about me.

Her eyes grow harder, but she doesn't fight back.

"Ellie," Negan calls. "Please."

My smile grows and I bite the corner of my lip to try and conceal it.

I've waited so long to hear those words.

I wanted to hear Negan beg for his life more than I wanted to hear him apologize.

I cock my gun and the woman flinches.

"Ellie, you don't even know her. Don't do this," Negan begs.

A laugh unbeknownst to me bubbles from my stomach and escapes my lips.

"And you knew Glenn?" I ask, not sparing him a look.

I hear Mom shuffle on her feet.

The room goes tense and quiet. Even though it was scorching hot, it almost felt cold from the tension.

The woman wriggles a bit and tries to appear strong. "Well.. do something about it."

I lean in a bit closer, staring the woman dead in the eyes. I smile and back away. With a sudden movement, I turn the gun from her to Negan.
