Kie's POV:

I walked in the house and my mom asked, "What the hell happened to you?"

"Uh, JJ and I got into a bit of a water and sand fight"

"I should have known.... Go shower and then we'll talk"

I went upstairs and took a shower and texted JJ

Kie: I wish you were in the shower with me right now

JJ: I wish I was in your shower.... John B's water pressure is ass and there's no hot water

Kie: Come shower with me

JJ: Your parents are home

Kie: I think I have an idea for our next date

JJ: 😏😏😏

Kie: Stop, it's not dirty like that...

JJ: What is it then?

Kie: You'll have to wait and see

I showered, got my pajamas on, and went downstairs to see what my mom wanted. Apparently, it wasn't anything serious. She just wanted to talk about things and have some mother-daughter time. She asked about Lucas and how I was doing from the break up.

I told her that I was okay. I explained that Lucas and I never should have dated in the first place becssue he didn't really love me and I realized that I was saying too much.

"How do you know so much about love?" She asked suspicious

"Just from what I see on movies and from people like you and dad and Sarah and Topper" I lied

That night I went to bed and I couldn't sleep because I missed JJ. I felt stupid texting him or calling him. So I suffered and didn't get much sleep.

JJ's POV:

I laid in bed wanting to call Kie and hear her voice. I wanted her to tell me all about that date she had planned but it was almost two in the morning.

The next day, we had school off and I was working at the Wreck. Kie was there and she looked exhausted. I walked up to her and said, "You look like shit"

"Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to hear"

"Next time you can't sleep, call me"

"I didn't want to wake you up"

"Well, I was laying there wanting to call you but I didn't want to wake you up. So next time at least text me. I don't sleep much and I'm a light sleeper. I'd stay up all night talking to you"

She gave me a small smile and then quickly walked away as her dad was coming over. Today work dragged on, but there was this party on the beach tonight. I was going with John B and Pope.

We got there and I got a drink. I was just hanging out with my friends when this girl, Maddie came up to us and started talking to me. I talked with her and so did John B and Pope.

She seemed nice and she was a pogue. I didn't think of her as anything more than just some girl who was talking to us. But she must have read way more into it, because she got super flirty with me right before she kissed me.

I pulled back and she asked, "What's wrong?"

"Yeah, JJ, what's wrong?" Pope asked

"Do you have a girlfriend or something?" Maddie asked

Yeah, I do have a girlfriend and her name is Kiara. She's the best thing that ever happened to me and I have zero interest in you. Is what I wanted to say to Maddie. But I couldn't say that because Kie and I weren't public. I had a reputation and before Kie, I would have been leaving the party with Maddie.
