JJ's POV:

My dad was coming to meet my daughter and I was super nervous. Mike and Anna were here too. I asked Mike to come in case my dad got out of hand, I needed someone else here to protect my girls. Mike and Anna suggested that we invite Luke over to their place and Kie and I both agreed it was a good idea.

My dad arrived late, of course. I told Kie to stay in here with Lily and I went outside. I wanted to make sure that he wasn't high or drunk before coming inside.

"JJ, where's my little daughter?" He asked

"Inside, are you drunk?" I flat-out asked him

"Nah, not yet..."

I brought him inside and Kie sat on the couch holding our daughter. He sat down and smiled at the baby in Kie's arms.

"She's tiny... I remember when you were that small, the good old days before you could open your mouth"

Kie gave me a look, making sure I was okay. Mike and Anna helped to make small talk with my dad and then he asked if he could hold her. Kie and I talked about this beforehand and we agreed we'd let him hold her for a few minutes.

Anna made him go wash his hands and that was a good idea because god knows that he might have on them. Kie gently placed our daughter in his arms and I felt my chest tighten and my body tense. He held her and said, "Wow, she even looks like a Maybank"

"JJ, take a picture for me" He said and I did

My dad didn't say a whole lot, he mainly answered whatever questions Mike or Anna asked him. He'd been holding her for maybe ten minutes when Kie said, "I'm gonna steal her back from you as it's time for me to feed her. But it was really great to see you, Luke"

Kie got up, grabbed our daughter, and headed upstairs. Mike and Anna talked to Luke for a few minutes before Mike and I walked him out. I went back inside and Kie was sitting in the kitchen holding Lily.

"Can I take her for a minute?" I asked as she handed me our daughter

I brought her upstairs and undressed her and gave her a bath in the sink of Kie's bathroom. I had her diaper bag up here where we kept extra clothes, blankets, shampoo, diapers, pretty much everything. Kie came up and saw what I was doing and knew exactly why I was doing it.

She let me continue and while I bathed her, she got her a new diaper and outfit. Kie came over and said, "Crazy how we went from our bath date to giving our daughter a bath in here"

I wrapped Lily in a large bath towel to dry her off. She always looked so tiny in such a big towel. I got her dressed and we headed downstairs. Kie handed Lily to her mom and said, "I need you to watch her for a bit. J and I need to talk"

"Of course" Anna said while Kie brought me outside

She didn't say anything, she just got into her car and I did too. She grabbed my hand while she drove home. She sat there before moving and then she said, "You built us this beautiful house. You love me unconditionally. You gave me the most perfect little girl. You are nothing like him. Let's go inside"

We walked inside and went and sat on the couch and she curled up next to me and wrapped her arms around my biceps as she rested her head on my shoulder.

"I tried... I really fucking tried to think maybe things could be different.. That Lily could have Luke in her life as her grandpa but then I saw her in his arms and I went crazy. I thought of every single time he hit me and all the times I've seen him passed out on the couch. Sometimes I didn't know if he was alive or not but I didn't care enough to check"

"Seeing our daughter in his arms made me realize that I can't ever trust him with her. I don't ever want to put her in a situation where he could hurt her, physically or emotionally. I don't ever want Lily to know what he's capable of" 

"I just felt like she was so dirty after he touched her. I can't ever do that again.." I said getting all my thoughts out 

"I understand and fully support your decision. I know your relationship with your dad is complicated. You call the shots here and I'll back you up no matter what"

"Thank you, Kie..." I whispered

"You don't have to thank me. I'm your wife, it's my job" She said kissing me

We broke apart and she said, "You know we're alone without the baby"

We haven't been away from Lily and truly alone since before she was born. We were going to take advantage of this.

Kie's POV:

We got dressed and JJ was going to stay here and start dinner while I went to get Lily from my parent's house. I told them a little about how JJ felt and that we decided Luke wasn't allowed to see Lily.

My parents supported that decision and totally understood. I brought Lily home and JJ was so excited to see her even though it hadn't been that long. I let him hang out and hold her while I finished dinner. 

 We ate, I fed her, and we got her to bed. I went into our room and got a bath ready for me and JJ. He was in the kitchen cleaning up and I walked out with only a towel wrapped around me and asked, "Care to join me?"

"Don't have to ask me twice" He said following me back to our bathroom

We sat in the bath together and talked and just relaxed. We didn't talk about Lily, or Luke, or my parents, or anything. We just talked and I loved that. I have the best husband in the world.
