Kie's  POV:

We were at the Chateau and JJ was kind of in a mood. He told me for into a fight with his dad last night. He said it was more verbal than physical.

I just sat on the couch as some Christmas movie played. I paused the movie and said, "You guys are my best friends and I've been lying to you guys and Im sorry.... JJ and I never broke up, it was a fake break up to try and get things to settle down with my dad and figure out who has been framing JJ for stealing... We shouldn't have lied to you guys and we're sorry. I just can't stand faking it around you guys anymore"

"Oh my gosh, I knew it!!!" John B said

"Thank god, you're the only girl that I've ever seen JJ care about" Pope said

"What about Madison? And that guy you saw?"

"Madison and Rudy were just our code names" JJ said as I came over to cuddle with him

He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the side of my head. The pogues weren't mad, they were just happy we were together because they thought we were soulmates. I felt much better being physically close to my boyfriend and I know he did too. Everyone promised not to tell my dad about us. I spent the night curled up with me on the pullout couch and he told me about the shit his dad said.

"You wanna know something crazy, my dad wanted me to invite you over for Christmas. He probably just wants you to bring food again because we're dirt poor, but he still invited you and wants to celebrate"

"I'll be there, with food if that's what you want. If you don't want me there, I don't have to come"

"I want you to come and I want it to be good like Thanksgiving, but I just worry about you being around him. If he snaps, I'd hate for you to see him in one of his moods or for him to hurt you... Or fuck, for you to watch him beat the shit out of me"

"Whatever you want... I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. We both have shitty dads, just in different ways. I'm sorry that my dad is making your life harder"

"I'd do anything if it means I get to be with you, even dealing with your dad. I love you so much"

"I love you too" She whispered as I fell asleep

JJ's POV:

The next day, Kie wasn't scheduled but she showed up. She had texted me she was coming as her dad needed a favor. She went into the office and I could overhear their conversation.

"I was wondering if you could do me a favor and go with William to the mainland to meet my seafood supplier"

"Dad, I don't feel comfortable being alone with William. I'd rather go alone"

"I don't feel comfortable with you going alone" He replied back to his daughter

My eyes met Kie's as her dad handed her the keys to his truck. I could tell she was super uncomfortable being around William. I looked at Mike and said, "You do remember what happened the last time those two were alone, right? He's not someone I'd want my daughter to be around"

"Kiara isn't your daughter and you aren't her boyfriend. You don't get a say in this"

"I'm telling you, you don't want your daughter around this guy. She's staying here" I said firmly

"And trust you with my credit card, hell no"

"Dad, I really don't want to go"

"The three of you can go, but I'm not paying you JJ"

"Whatever" I said walking out to Mike's truck

Kie got in the driver's seat and I went to sit up front but Mike yelled, "The pogue sits in the back. I sat behind Kje and William hopped up front as Kie drove to the mainland. The ride was pretty quiet and William asked, "Why's your ex here ruining our date?"

"This isn't a date" Kie said focusing on the road

He looked back at me as he put his hand on Kie's thigh. It was like upper thigh with a tight grip. It took everything in me not to punch him. She moved it off of her and kept driving. She was pissed. We got there and William and I talked to the guy while Kie paid.

Kie whispered, "Run to the truck and hop in the back"

I was confused, but she said she was going to head back to the truck. She started the truck and I ran. William started running and I was full on out sprinting. Kie started slowly pull away when I was able to jump in the bed of the truck. William yelled, "She's a crazy bitch"

Kie sped up and once we were far enough away, she pulled over and I got in the truck with her. She hugged me and said, "I'm sorry, but I wasn't riding back with him"

"It's okay, I'm sorry that your dad didn't listen"

"Thank you for being here" She hugged me

We got back to the Wreck and she handed her dad the work credit card and said, "I left William there. He joked that we were on a date and then he put his hand on my thigh. I told you that I didn't want to be around him, you wouldn't even let JJ sit up front. This is all your fault!!"

She was in tears and Mike looked at me and we both looked at Kie. She was on the phone with I'm guessing her mom. She walked by both of us and left in her jeep.

"JJ" Mike said quietly

"I'm not in the mood to argue with you. Your daughter told you she didn't feel comfortable around William and you didn't listen to her, that's fucked up" I said grabbing my stuff and walking out of the Wreck

My shift didn't end for another three hours, but I didn't care. I grabbed my phone and called Anna to tell her what happened. She said Kie had told her and she was on her way home. She told me to come over too.

I headed to Figure Eight and parked my bike outside her house. I was about to knock when Anna pulled in the driveway and we walked inside together.

We heard the shower on in Kie's room. She looked at me and said, "You should be the one to talk to her. I'll be down here if you need me"

I headed up to her room opened the door. I closed it behind me and opened the bathroom door.

"Kie, are you okay?" I asked and she didn't respond

"Kie!" I said a little louder as I entered the bathroom and saw her sitting in shower with her knees tucked up against her chest

She was crying and it broke my heart. She saw me and I got in the shower and shut the water off and gave her a towel. She wrapped it around her body as she got up and I pulled her into a hug.
