Kie's POV:

Life for the next few weeks was super boring. JJ was picking up more and more side jobs and cutting down on hours at the Wreck. I was busy working a ton as I
was now helping JJ with bills since we lived together.

It really opened my eyes to his life before we met. Luke rarely helped pay the bills. It was up to JJ to pay rent and all the bills to have water and electricity. On top of that he has to pay for food and gas and have time for school. I was laying in bed and JJ was studying for a test. I offered to help him, but he declined the help.

It had been a few hours and I got up to go check on him. He was sitting at the kitchen table and I went and sat on his lap and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"You work so hard and I'm so proud of you... I never realized how much of a kook bitch I truly was until I moved in with you. I was such a bitch to you before we started dating. I don't know how you ever fell in love with me"

"You weren't a bitch to me. I don't ever want you to think that you were. I think that was our weird way of flirting with each other. If I thought you were a bitch, I wouldn't have fallen in love with you. You do know that I'm not accepting your money for rent and bills"

"You have to, it's only fair. I'm living here too"

"But you have a house on Figure Eight"

"My parents have a house on Figure Eight. I've already told you, my house is wherever you are... Please come to bed" I whispered into his neck

He held me in his arms and he got up and carried me to bed. He pulled me into his arms and said, "I love you"

"I love you too" I mumbled half asleep

The next day, JJ said his test went really well. I worked at the Wreck and he was working on someone's car at home. My mom was in the office sitting at my dads desk. I went in and sat with her and she said, "Dads gone for the weekend. Will you please come stay with me for the weekend? We'll go out to dinner, go shopping, I'll make your favorite meals. I miss you being home with me"

She paused and quickly added, "And of course, JJ is invited"

"I'll talk to him, but I'd like that"

"Come for dinner tonight. I gotta head out, but I love you and I hope you'll both stay the weekend"

"Love you too, mom!"

I went home after work and told JJ what my mom said and he packed a bag and said, "I'm not about to turn down a weekend on Figure Eight, a place with air conditioning, a pool, the world's comfiest bed, and a shower with amazing water pressure, plus your mom is insanely good. Hell yeah, we're going!"

We showed up and my mom was just finishing dinner. JJ helped her get everything ready and we sat down together and my mom asked how living together was going.

"It's the best, I love falling asleep next to Kie and waking up next to her" JJ smiled and my mom looked at me and her look just showed that she knew how much he loved me

"Glad someone likes sleeping with her" My mom laughed and JJ and I both laughed and my mom realized what she said

"I mean, sleeping next to her because as a kid when she'd sleep in my bed, she'd kick and hog all the blankets"

"Oh, she still does" JJ laughed

We started a board game and watched a movie. My mom won the game and I was exhausted, so I hugged my mom and said goodnight and gave JJ a quick kiss.

I headed up to my room, leaving JJ and my mom alone. I knew they were fine as they got along good. I laid down in bed and almost instantly fell asleep. I'll admit, I've missed my bed.

JJ's POV:

Kie went upstairs to go to bed and I stayed up to finsh the movie with Anna. We had a really good relationship and it wasn't weird or awkward for the two of us to be alone. In fact, now that we were alone there were a few things I wanted to talk to her about.

"Hey, Anna... So I don't know if Kie told you or not but I'm doing some side work as a mechanic. I want to open up my own shop"

"She mentioned you had a few projects going on but nothing about owning a shop. That's a huge decision, wow! That's amazing, congrats. I'm so happy for you" She said smiling

"Thanks, it's going to be a ton of work but it'll be worth it. It's why I've been cutting back on hours at the Wreck"

"I don't blame you for that. It's weird, Mike knows you're the best employee he's ever hired, but he's being so stubborn about this whole dating Kiara thing"

"Well, I'm not going anywhere so hopefully he starts to warm up to it"

We continued talking as we watched the movie and I told her that I was going to ask Kie to prom. Her mom got so excited and said, "I was hoping you would! I know dances like that aren't really your thing but it will be fun"

She even offered to buy me a suit for the dance. She told me that Lucas' parents called her after our trip for Kie's birthday and told her all about what happened.

"What did you say?" I asked her

"I told them some things that I should repeat to you"

I gave her a look as so was suddenly super curious about what she said. She must have known because she said, "Basically just to stay out of my daughters life and her relationship with you with a lot of choice words"

"Thanks for defending us, especially me. I know at first you didn't seem to like me being with Kie"

"I'll always defend you guys and you. I'm sorry your dad has ruined your name and made everyone hate you before they get to know you. I'm guilty of it too, but I'm so happy you're in my daughters life. I haven't seen her this happy ever"

I smiled and said, "She makes me just as happy and don't worry about it. I'm glad we're cool now"

The movie ended and I headed upstairs to my girlfriends room. I laid down in bed with her and she moved closer to me. I lightly kissed her forehead and fell asleep. Now to ask her to prom... Anna had a day planned for the three of us tomorrow on the mainland. I'm kinda excited to hang with Kie and her mom tomorrow.
