Kie's POV:

I went up and sat by my mom and she said, "Your dad is pissed"

"About what?" I asked playing dumb

"He went back to check on you guys and you were both gone"

"I went to the bathroom"

"Yeah, I'm sure you did, you went into the bathroom with your boyfriend to join the mile club" My mom said

"Or maybe I just went into the bathroom because I really had to pee"

"Mhmm" She gave me this look totally not believing me

I just gave her this slightly embarrassed, slightly annoyed look. She looked at me and said, "I'm not judging, you go girl"

She smirked and took a sip of her champagne as she said, "You've earned your wings"

She handed me a pair of those plastic wings the pilots give out and she informed me she asked the flight attendant for the plastic wings.

"So, how have things been with you and JJ?" My mom asked

I played with the plastic wings and said, "Honestly, they weren't great but we're better now"

"What happened?"

I explained everything to her about the college tour, things with my dad, and how I hated feeling like I needed to pick between JJ and college. She listened and said, "Don't worry about college or losing JJ. You have plenty of time to figure it out but you aren't picking between college and JJ. You're deciding if you want to go to college and where you'd want to go. JJ is so in love with you and he wants you to be happy. You guys will be okay, JJ can go with you or you can pick a school here or the two of you can travel the world. You and JJ are going to be just fine"

"I know we will be... He's way too good for me"

"No, he is exactly the type of man you deserve. Kiara, that boy loves you and he treats you amazing. I love JJ like he's my son. You two have the most beautiful love story and I can't wait to tell my grandkids how their parents fell in love"

"Grandkids, huh?"

"Yeah, you're my only baby so I'm hoping for a few"

"I'll get right on that" I laughed

"I wouldn't complain"

"Dad would"

"You and JJ are going to have a baby when you're ready. Your father and I should have no opinion in that department"

"If we have a girl, her middle name is going to be Anna" I told my mom and she got the biggest smile

We talked for the rest of the plane ride and when we landed, we met up with my dad and JJ.

We had a great first day in Costa Rica and then my dad asked JJ to stay outside and talk. My mom and I went inside and she said, "Holy shit!!"

I practically ran out of my room as I thought something bad happened. My mind immediately went to JJ and my dad were fighting, like throwing punches. My mom then said, "They're smoking weed together"

"What the fuck" I said so confused as we watched from the window

"Since when does dad smoke weed?" I asked

"He used to when he was younger... As an adult, it's rare. I think he's only done it a handful of times since you were born"

JJ's POV:

Mike and I were both high and so far we haven't said a word. I finally said, "That was some good weed"

"It wasn't cheap either so I hope you enjoyed it"

"Why'd you wanna smoke with me?" I asked

"I overreacted on the plane today and I tend to overreact a lot"

"Yeah, you do..." I said not afraid of Mike Carrera

"Why my daughter? Was that your whole intention when I hired you at the Wreck?"

"Why your daughter? Because there's no one like her. No one I would want to be with it. If I can't be with her, I'd rather be alone. Ha, no I never planned on falling in love with her but I'm glad I did. You know, when you hired me, you were cool and then I started dating your daughter and you turned into a real ass"

Mike chuckled and took a long hit of the joint, finishing it off and putting it out. I looked at him and asked, "Were you this big of a dick to Lucas when he was dating Kie?"

Mike was getting annoyed with me and he said, "I'm just an overprotective father"

"Yeah, and I really don't give a shit about what you think of me or how you treat me. I do care that you're destroying your relationship with your daughter. Mike, you're not going to scare me away, but you will push Kie away. I'm not going anywhere. I think I've proven that. So either accept it or leave us both the hell alone. If not, I'm not afraid to leave with your daughter and cut off all communication with you"

"Damn, that's quite the threat... I'm not trying to be a dick to you"

"Really? Because you're doing a great job"

"Shut up, JJ"

"Why did you even wanna get high with me if you're still gonna have a stick up your ass"

"I'm just trying to talk to you JJ and you won't let me"

"So talk then"

"I heard that you have a ring?"

"See you're just asking questions and being an ass... But for a matter of fact, I do have a ring"

"Is it with you? Did you bring it on the trip?"

"I have the ring with me at all times... Never want to miss the perfect moment to propose" I said teasing him

Yes, I had a ring. Yes, it was on this trip. No, I wasn't going to propose right now. However, I did have Anna's blessing. When Mike took Kie on those collage tours, I worked almost everyday at the Wreck to help Anna out. One night, I told her and showed her my moms ring, the ring I wanted to propose to Kie with and I asked for her blessing and she happily gave it to me.

He took a breath and said, "JJ, Anna told me about the conversation you guys had when we were gone. She gave you her blessing to marry our daughter"

"Yeah, she did..."

"No bs here, were you going to ask me for my blessing before proposing?"

"No, Anna has been amazing to me and about our relationship. So her yes is good enough for me and I'm not going to let your no get in the way of my future marriage"

"Who says I would have said no?"

"Lucky guess"

"JJ, I'm not an idiot. I can see how happy my daughter is, she missed you so much on our college trip. I know she loves you and you've made it clear that you love her. I mean, you guys are living together. We see Kiara's bank statements and I know she isn't paying bills. You're taking care of my daughter"

"Of course, I am. I wouldn't ever expect her to pay rent or bills for what you call my shit shack. She's my girlfriend, she's my responsibility. I love her and obviously I'm going to take care of her"

"I see that, you're a hard worker. You've proven that at the Wreck. I see that you'll do anything to protect her through the situations with William and Danny. I see that how you take care of her and love her. I see how happy you make each other. Because of that, you have my blessing to marry my daughter"
