Kie's POV:

I missed my first class but was there the rest of the day. Sarah asked how everything went and I told her amazing. She still couldn't believe my mom got us a hotel room. Honestly, neither could I but I appreciated it.

After school, I went home and my mom was there and asked, "How was JJ's birthday?"

"Amazing! Thank you, mom" I said hugging her

"You're welcome..." She said smiling

"No, really thank you for being so supportive of me and JJ. It means a lot to us and yesterday was so special. He's never really celebrated his birthday before, so thank you"

"Of course, I really like him, Kiara. You picked a good one"

I got caught back up on my homework and things I missed in school. Then, Sarah came over and we went to hang out in my room. We were having a sleepover tonight.

"So, how'd JJ like my little gift?"

I gave her a look and she smiled and said, "I knew it!"

"Just wait until I get John B a little something for you"

"Not yet, we haven't done it yet"

"You still haven't done it?"

"No, we've come close but we haven't gone all the way"

Sarah and I talked and talked. We hung out and watched the Notebook and once again, Sarah teased me that it was me and JJ and I smiled at the screen and said, "Yeah, it is"

"Wow, you're finally admitting it!" She teased me

We eventually fell asleep and the next morning, we just hung out. It was a super lowkey sleepover and much needed girl time. Later today, I went to work and JJ had the day off. It wasn't super busy so it was just William, me, and Hannah. No one liked Hannah and no one ever talked to her.

William and I talked throughout the shift. It wasn't anything special, it was just small talk about dumb shit. When I got done working, JJ was waiting outside. I walked over to him and hugged him.

"I missed you" He whispered

"I missed you too" I said kissing him

"You guys are disgustingly in love" Hannah rolled her eyes as she left

"Bye, Kiara, JJ" William nodded

I was alone with JJ now and he said, "I know you need to get home before your dad comes looking for you, I just had to see you"

"It's only been a day"

"I know, a very long day without seeing my beautiful girlfriend" He said kissing me

We made out for a minute before I left to head home. JJ was right, if I didn't go right home after work, my dad would come looking for me.

JJ's POV:

I worked the next day at the Wreck. Kie worked in the morning and. I was there in the evening. It was a super long shift. I went home and I was exhausted. I went home and sat at the kitchen table and opened my bag to grab my charger.

I opened my backpack and there was a wad of cash. I had no idea where this came from. My dad walked by and asked, "Where the hell did you get so much cash?"

"I don't know... Someone must have put it in my bag" I said totally freaking out but my dad thought it was pure luck and literally was already talking about what he could do with it. As if it was perfectly timed, Mike sent a text out to everyone that worked at the Wreck.

Mike: Once again, we have a large amount of money missing from the register. Tomorrow night, at 5 pm we will be having an all-staff meeting. Everyone is expected to be there.

I grabbed the money as my dad yelled at me and I drove to the Carrera's house. I knocked on the door and Anna opened the door.

"JJ, hi" She smiled

"Hi, is Mike home? I need to talk to guys"

Her mom looked surprised and asked, "Are you sure you want Mike here?"

I appreciated her asking as she knew we had a better relationship than I did with Mike. I told her that Mike should be here too. She went and grabbed him and he asked, "JJ, what are you doing at my house?"

"I'm here to talk to you and Anna about something at the Wreck... Listen, I got home and I opened my backpack up to grab my phone charger and this was on top... I swear it wasn't me who took it" I tried to defend myself but I know how guilty this makes me look

"I fucking knew it" Mike raised his voice

"It's not him... It couldn't be. This is the first time he's been on the schedule when the money went missing" Anna spoke up

"I swear to you that I didn't take your money. I love Kiara and I would never do something like that to you guys. As soon as I saw it, I came right here to give it back to you"

Mike was counting the money and Anna said, "Thank you for bringing this to us. I'll talk to Mike. Don't say anything about this to anyone... Please be at the meeting tomorrow night after school"

"I'll be there" I said nodding as I walked out the door

"That fucking pogue" I heard Mike say as I closed the door

I wanted to turn around and punch him. I was used to fighting and solving my problems this way. This was all new territory for me. I got on my bike and went home. My dad was outside waiting for me and he asked, "Where's my money, boy?"

"I gave it back to the Carrera's..."

"Now why would you go do something like that?"

"Because someone stole the money and it wasn't me... Kiara is my girlfriend and her dad already hates me. It was the right thing to do"

"You've gone soft, I'm disappointed"

"Yeah, well having you as a father is a disappointment too" I mumbled as I went into my room

I laid down and fell asleep and the next night, I had to go to the meeting at the Wreck. When I got there, William was sitting and talking with Kie. She saw me and got up and walked towards me.

"You okay?" I asked

"Yeah, he's being super annoying" She whispered

We sat down by each other and Mike and Anna came out to talk about the missing money. Apparently, it has been happening more often and they just said basically that they know about it and if anyone has any information to let them know. Mike then went on to say he was disappointed and that he can't trust anyone here alone.

I went to the Chateau because I really needed help with my math homework. Pope was the one who didn't mind helping me in school. I was lucky to have a smart friend. They asked how the meeting went and I told them it wasn't much. I haven't told anyone about the money that appeared in my backpack.
