JJ's POV:

I had to get up the next morning and go to my dad's house as someone was picking up their car later today and I didn't finish it. I was too busy getting engaged. I left the Carrera's house and went and got right to work. Around 10 am, I saw Kie's Jeep pull up and she sat with me and watched me work.

My dad walked out and said, "I see you have your girlfriend over"

"Actually, dad, she's my fiance" I said telling him the news

He actually smiled, like he was proud of me and said, "Damn, my son is marrying a kook. I'm finally gonna have a daughter"

Kie smiled at me as she knew how much his reaction meant to me. I was glad he was happy, for now, but there was no way that I would ever let him anywhere near Kie. He hugged me and then he hugged Kie and said, "Remember there's still time to run"

She laughed and said, "I'm not going anywhere"

Kie grabbed my hand and squeezed it three times to say 'I love you'. My dad looked back at her and asked, "How do your parents feel about you becoming a Maybank?"

"Actually, they were really happy for us. It's taken some time for them to approve, but they both love JJ"

"Hmm, who woulda thought," He said cracking a beer open and I knew it was time to leave

Kie and I got in her car and we went to the Chateau where John B and Sarah were. We were just going to see how long it took them to notice the ring on Kie's finger and not say anything. We had been there almost two hours and Sarah said, "What the hell is that? Are you fucking serious?? Holy shit, bitch you're engaged"

Sarah grabbed Kie's hand and inspected the ring and then she hugged her best friend and she was crying. It's kinda adorable to see how much she cares about Kie and how happy she is for us. While the girls had their moment, John B and I did the pogue handshake and said, "Congrats man, you finally grew a pair"

"Fuck off" I laughed

Sarah hugged me and said, "You did good JJ"

John B hugged Kie and we told them all about the proposal and then we face timed Pope and Cleo and told them. Our friends were so excited for us and then John B asked, "Kie, did you know he was supposed to propose to you when we went out in the canoe where that movie was filmed?"

"That movie, John B that's mine and Kiara's favorite movie and it's basically the love story of JJ and Kie! How can you not know the name?"

"Dude, you're in trouble" I joked with John B

"I had no idea... Honestly, I didn't even think he had a ring" Kie answered

"Of course, I had a ring" I said smirking at her

"Even if you didn't, I would have said yes" She smiled and I knew she was telling the truth

Kie's POV:

JJ and I had told our parents and our friends and we just posted a picture from our engagement on social media. I was excited for everyone to know that I was going to marry my best friend. I couldn't think of a caption so I just went with:

I can't wait to marry my best friend ❤️

We got lots of likes and comments. There were cute ones from friends and then there were those stupid ones.

Sarah: Damn, didn't know we were getting married

Sarah: Just kiddingggg, I love you both so much and I'm so happy for you

Sarah: Kiara Anna Carrera 🔜 Kiara Anna Maybank

Pope: It's about time

Cleo: Cheese on breadddd, congrats!

John B: JJ liked it so he put a ring on it 💍

Then a girl who I went to the kook academy with, Jessica. She tagged Lucas in the post and said: She so downgraded

And then there were comments going back and forth about people giving us shit and people defending us. It was kinda funny to read them because their opinions meant nothing to us. Sarah was there defending us in the comments, go best friend.

JJ and I laid in bed together looking at all the comments and he said, "I honestly can't believe you picked me over that asshole"

"Like you said, he was an asshole"

"Yeah, but still you risked a lot to be with me. I honestly never thought my little crush on you would turn into all this" He said lightly rubbing my arm

"I don't know how we went from always fighting to engaged, but it's one hell of a love story to tell our kids... And Jayge, I'd do it all again. I love you"

"I love you too, baby" He whispered back

He had my phone and pulled up the picture of us laying together in the hotel bed, the blackmail picture. He said, "I'm glad Danny took this"

"Me too... Jayge, I don't wanna wait to marry you. Let's get married this summer"

"Okay, let's do it"

"I'm also going back to school tomorrow. I have to finish the Spring semester but after that, I'm done. I'm moving back to the Outer Banks"

He took a breath and didn't say anything for a second. "I'm going to miss you, but we got this because when you come back, we'll be getting married unless you decide you'd rather marry Gavin"

"Shut up, you know I never trade you for anyone"

JJ and I fell asleep in my bed and the next morning, I said goodbye to my parents and JJ took me to the airport. Before he dropped me off, I said, "JJ, please stay with my parents in my room. I don't want to worry about you living with your dad. You can stay in my room, drive my car, we're getting married. I need you safe"

"I promise, I'll stay at your parent's house and not with my dad. I need you safe too. I love you, Kiara Anna Carrera"

"I love you too, Jackson James Maybank"

He kissed me goodbye and I headed into the airport and got on my plane back to California. The whole plane ride there, I couldn't stop looking at and playing with the ring on my finger.
