Kie's POV:

I slept awful as I couldn't stop thinking about what JJ said. It was weird not having him in bed with me. We've never fought like this before. I've never even thought about getting divorced until I said it downstairs.

I couldn't help but wonder what that would look like. I never wanted to put my kids through that but if JJ is serious about not wanting this baby, I don't know what else to do because I'm having this baby.

JJ left early for work the next day as he was gone when I got up. I wondered if he even slept here. I got the girls up and started making breakfast.

"Where's daddy?" Lily asked

"He had to work early this morning"

"Can he please come home for lunch today?" She asked

There were days when JJ left early for work, he'd come home over lunch and do a picnic lunch with us outside. He always hated leaving early without seeing his family.

"I don't know, I'll text him and ask him"

Kie: The girls are wondering if you'll come home and have lunch with them since you weren't at breakfast

JJ didn't respond right away which wasn't out of the ordinary as he was probably busy working. But he eventually texted me back.

JJ: Yeah, if you're cool with it

Kie: Of course, I'm cool with it. You're their dad and no matter what's going on between us, they come first

JJ: I'll be home around 12:30

"Guess what? Daddy's coming home for lunch" I yelled to the girls who were playing

They were so excited and I told them to figure out what they wanted me to make for lunch. JJ came home and I had lunch ready and he went outside with the girls for a picnic and I joined them.

We had a nice lunch and the girls had no idea JJ and I were fighting which is exactly what we both wanted.
JJ left to go back to work and I cleaned up before I continued working. JJ came home after work and took the girls on a bike ride (real bikes, there is no way he'd ever take them on his bike)

I gave them a bath and after dinner and JJ read to them and got them to bed. JJ went into our room to take a shower and then he left the room and didn't say a word to me.

JJ's POV:

It's been two days since Kie's talked to me. I mean, she's talked to me when the girls around around about stupid shit but not about her talking about divorce. She was going to bed when I said, "Kie, come here"

She came and sat down next to me and I said, "I'm sorry... I just.. We have two amazing girls who are just like you. When I saw that blue confetti, I freaked out. I didn't think it was a boy. I never wanted a son because..." I got all emotional and finally added, "that means the Maybank name lives on. When I was eleven, I made my mind up that I didn't want kids because I didn't want any kids ending up like me. But then I met you and we had Lily and Emma and even though they have my DNA, they have yours too and you're amazing and they're girls so they are going to want to be just like their mom. But I can't have a son wanting to be like me, Kie..."

"JJ, you aren't Luke... You know you're a good dad. You can figure out how to be a good dad to our son" She said clearly still pissed at me

She got up and went upstairs and I wasn't in the mood to argue. I've never seen her this mad before. She back downstairs a few minutes later and said, "I'm taking the girls to my parents beach house in Florida for a few days. We'll leave tomorrow and come back on Sunday"

"You shouldn't drive almost ten hours alone, especially not when you're pregnant and with two kids along. It's not good for you to sit that long"

She made a face and said, "You have no say in this. If you want, I'll leave the girls here but I'm going"

"I do have a say in this because you're my wife and you're carrying my baby. I don't want you traveling that far alone"

"Oh so now it's your baby, when a few days ago you basically told me to have an abortion"

"I never said that" I defended myself

"But it's what you meant" She said walking back up to our room

The next morning at breakfast, she told the girls she was going with grandma on a vacation and that daddy was watching them. She hugged the girls goodbye and then she said, "I'll be back in a few days, I love you"

"Love you too" Lily said

"Love ewww" Emma replied

"Mommy, aren't you going to say goodbye to daddy?" Lily asked with a smile

"Of course, I'm going to say goodbye to daddy" She said hugging me

Kie left and I wasn't going to work because I had to watch the kids. The girls were excited to have a weekend with me and I was excited to spend a weekend with them. I was just worried about Kie. We've never fought like this before.

I was just glad she was going with her mom and they were flying. I saw Anna posted on Facebook. It was a picture of her an Kie with her parents (Kie's grandparents). I'm glad they made it safe.

I thought of a few fun things to do with the girls while Kie was away. I was also going to make a point of inviting Mike over since Anna was gone.

The next morning I texted Mike and asked if he wanted to come over some night and I'd cook. He said he'd love to come over and we decided tomorrow night.

I was putting laundry away then I made breakfast for the girls. Today, I was taking them to the beach. They loved the beach. We built sand castles, swam, and had a picnic lunch before going home. I gave them a bath as they were full of sand. We played a game and then they were ready for bed after being out in the sun all day.

I grabbed my phone and facetimed Kie. She answered and I said, "Hey, girls are going to bed and thought you might wanna say goodnight"

"Yeah, of course"

I walked into the living room where the girls were and handed them my phone. They told Kie all about our day at the beach and she said, "Sounds like you guys had a fun day"

"Ya, miss you mommy" Lily said

"I miss you girls too, but I'll be home in a few days"

"How's baby brother?" Lily asked, it was her favorite question to ask how the baby way

Kie showed them her stomach and said, "He's good, he was really hungry today"

The girls laughed and then Anna said goodnight to the girls. Lily hung up before I could talk to Kie. I got the girls down and I tried to call Kie again but she didn't answer.

I tossed and turned and I couldn't sleep. I missed my wife and I just needed to talk to her. I was glad Mike was coming over tomorrow night. I could really use some advice from him.
