Kie's POV:

I was at the Wreck working and my dad was in his office. I went and sat down as my shift was ending and he asked, "How are you doing?"

"I'm fine..." I said drinking my water

"Kiara, please don't be mad at me for not allowing you and JJ to work together"

"Dad, we are literally at work? What do you think would happen? There's how many people around. You can't keep me from seeing him forever. When I'm eighteen, I'll move out and go live with him. I love him and he actually cares about me" I said getting super upset

"He's a teenage boy, he can't be trusted with my daughter"

"When has he ever done anything to break your trust? Exactly. He hasn't so why don't you at least give him a chance?"

"We are not having this conversation at work. You're my daughter and it's my job to protect you"

"I don't need you to protect me from JJ. If anything, you needed to protect me from Lucas"

"That's a bunch of crap, Kiara. Lucas was good to you. He came from a good family, had good morals, and people liked him"

"Lucas was awful to me! JJ actually cares about me, dad. The people that hate JJ don't really know him because he is nothing like his father"

My dad started yelling at me and I was in tears. Suddenly, JJ walked into the office as he was showing up to work to close tonight. He saw me crying and he walked over and hugged me. He kissed the top of my head and he whispered, "Let's go outside and talk"

I got up and left the office with JJ. We went outside so there was more privacy and he hugged me and asked, "What did he say?"

"Just a bunch of shit about us"

"JJ, you better get your ass in here and get to work. Your shift starts now" Mike yelled at him

"Okay, so you want me to leave your crying daughter out here? Yeah, that would give me the shittyiest boyfriend award"

"She's fine"

"I'm okay, JJ... Just go before he gets pissed and fires you" I whispered

"I really hate leaving you like this. I'll call you when I get done tonight. I love you so much"

"I love you too" He whispered giving me a quick kiss before heading back into the Wreck

JJ's POV:

Her dad was being an ass. I couldn't believe he made his own daughter cry. It really pissed me off. I kept calm all shift, but as I was leaving I walked into the office and I kinda lost it.

"Listen, you can fire me if you want to. I really don't care. You liked me until you found out that I was dating your daughter. I have zero intentions of ever breaking up with her. This isn't some game or a stupid fling or hook up. This is real. I am in love with her"

I took a breath and continued, "As her boyfriend, I'm not okay with you speaking to her like that and making her cry. My dad is a fucking asshole who has literally almost beat me to death. I know what it's like to hate my own father and I never want Kie to hate you over something so stupid. You raised an amazing girl, trust her to make her own decisions and trust that you raised her right"

I continued, "I love her and I'm not going anywhere. So if you have a problem with me, you talk to me about it. Don't ever make your daughter cry again"

I walked out of the Wreck and I went and bought Kie her favorite ice cream and I picked some wildflowers from the same kooks yard. I drove my bike to Kie's house and I knocked the door and of course, Mike opened it.

Luckily, Anna was right there and she invited me and told me that Kie was in her room. She looked at her husband and knew something was off. I went up to Kie's room and lightly knocked on the door before opening it.

"Hey" I whispered as I saw her sitting in bed

"Hi, what are you doing here?"

"I brought you some ice cream and some flowers to make you feel better"

"Thanks, JJ...." She said I sat on the bed and we shared the ice cream I bought her

Anna came up with a vase full of water and put the flowers in the vase. She put the flowers on Kie's dresser and asked, "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, dad just got mad at me today over JJ and I cried and then JJ took me outside which made dad more upset... And then JJ was just telling me that he kinda told dad off"

"I'll talk to him... I'm sorry he's acting like this. Thank you for standing up for Kiara" Anna said leaving the room and closing the door behind her

"Wow, your mom trusts us enough to close the door" I teased

Kie laughed and said, "I mean she already knows we're having sex so it's not like we can do anything worse than that"

"I don't know, murder is worse"

"You're going to murder me?" She asked laughing

"The only thing that I'm going to murder is your pus...." She shoved a spoonful of ice cream in my mouth

"Don't finish that sentence" She laughed

We finished the ice cream and then I left her house. I didn't want to stay too long. I mean, I would have stayed forever but I knew Mike didn't want me here. I went home and my dad was drunk. He asked, "How's your kook girl?"

"We're good, dad" I answered simply

He handed me a beer and said, "I overheard that you and her daddy got into a fight today. Did you hit him?"

"No, I didn't hit him. I just talked to him"

"Interesting, you're learning to control your temper. So listen, I'm heading down south for a couple of weeks. I got some cash that I won off some lottery tickets and I'm gonna double it. We're gonna be kooks, kid"

"Good luck, dad" I said knowing he was going to lose it all

I went to bed and I texted Kie. I knew she was already asleep but hopefully she'd smile waking up to my text.

JJ: I'm so sorry for the things your dad said tonight. I feel guilty, like it's my fault. I love you so much and I promise you that if we have kids someday, I won't ever act like Luke or Mike. You're the best girlfriend and I love you so much, Kiara Anna Carrera. You are my everything
