Kie's POV:

The shift was finally coming to an end. JJ was pissed at me and he wouldn't talk to me. William had just left and that meant that JJ and I were alone. I was about to leave and JJ was bringing out all the trash to the dumpster. The lights went off as soon as JJ left.

"JJ, turn the fucking lights back on" I said angry but as I went to flip the switch, but the lights didn't turn on

I heard the door slam and I got freaked out. I was scared and I yelled, "JJ, this isn't fucking funny. Please stop. I'm scared"

I saw a person in all black approach me. He was wearing a ski mask. I backed up slowly but I was in the kitchen and there was no way out. The guy walked closer to me and he grabbed me. There was no way this was JJ. The guy forcefully pushed me up against the wall. It was Danny... I pushed him off and that only made him grab my wrists with more force.

"JJ!!!" I screamed as loud as I possible could

Danny had my arms pinned above my head and his other hand on my waist. I heard a window break and seconds later, JJ was yanking Danny off of me.

JJ punched Danny, hard and the two were shoving each other all around the kitchen and I just sat there crying. I couldn't move, I could barely breathe.

Danny passed out on the floor after JJ hit him and he grabbed my phone and called my dad and the police. While we waited, he knelt down beside me and asked, "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"

"I'm okay, are you?" I asked concerned as he was in a nasty fight

"I'll be fine, this is nothing compared to my dad. I'm more worried about you" He hugged me and I was shaking and crying

JJ's POV:

Danny was passed out on the kitchen floor and I called 911 and then I called Mike on Kie's phone. He answered the phone with a simple, "Hi"

"Mike, It's JJ... Kie's is okay but something happened at the Wreck with Danny. I've already called the cops but you should get here asap"

"I'm on my way" He said hanging up

A few minutes later, Mike arrived and saw Danny on the floor and Kie sitting up against a wall. She was crying and had her knees to her chest. I got up from where I was next to her.

Mike and Anna immediately went to their daughter and saw the bruises forming around her wrists where Danny grabbed her.

Anna hugged Kie while Mike stood up and looked at me.

"Did you do this to her?"

"No, sir... I would never hurt your daughter. I know we
have been fighting but nothing like this. I left to bring the trash out for the night and I saw the lights go off inside. I figured Kie was leaving as we were the last two inside. I didn't bring my keys outside to get back in, I heard Kie yell something and it didn't sound right, so I broke a window and found Danny basically attacking her... I got him off of her and we got into a nasty fight..."

The cops showed up and put Danny into handcuffs and then they came and cuffed me too.

"Why am I being arrested?" I asked looking at Mike and Anna

The cop started saying the shit about remaining silent and right to a lawyer and all that. Anna walked over and said, "Don't arrest him"

"Ma'am, legally we don't know what happened here. The gentleman on the floor could have been attacked by the blonde" The officer said

"Kiara, can you explain what happened?" Anna asked

"We'll listen to her statement, but for the time being both men will be cuffed and placed into the back of our squad cars"

I was handcuffed and so was Danny. We were placed in two different cars while the police officers talked to Kie. She was shaking and crying and she was terrified. They were writing things down and taking notes and pictures of Kiara's body.

It's been about a half hour and Danny's car left and I was still here. They opened the back door and said, "You're free to go"

I walked towards Kie and Anna but Mike stopped me.

"Walk away, JJ... She's already in enough pain. Don't make this worse"

I would have walked by him if Kie and I were okay but I don't even know what we are anymore. I turned around and walked to my bike and went home. I started typing different messages to send to Kie, but ended up deleting them and not saying anything at all.

John B kept calling me as I'm sure Kie told Sarah who told John B. I ignored his calls and tossed and turned all night long. It was around 4am when I texted Kie.

JJ: I can't sleep and I'm sure you can't either. I just want you to know that I'm here if you want to talk about what happened

I put my phone down and she responded right away.

Kie: You should come over tomorrow. We need to talk

JJ: I'll be there, try and get some sleep

I got up the next morning and headed over to Kie's house. She was sitting out on the porch on the fancy couch that was part of the furniture set. She was wrapped in a blanket and she saw me and said, "Thank you for coming over"

"You sound so formal about it" I said half serious and half joking

I looked at her and I saw the tears in her eyes forming. I sat down beside her and she said, "Danny is in jail and I'm pressing charges"

"Good, he's fucked up and I don't want him anywhere near you"

"I just wanted to say thank you for saving me. If you wouldn't have came back in who knows what he would have done"

"You know that I'll always protect you"

"I know, but we were fighting all shift and I thought maybe you were the one killing the power and then I realized it wasn't you... For all the shit that I've said and done the past few days, I would've understood if you just walked away"

"Don't say that... Ever. You don't deserve anything Danny did to you or anything he might have done"

She rested her head on my shoulder and she didn't say anything else. Mike came outside and saw me and said, "JJ, it's time for you to leave"

"Dad, he just got here"

"I don't care. Ever since you guys got together there has been nothing but trouble. JJ needs to leave, he isn't welcome here"

"Noted" I said getting up to leave

I looked back at Kie and she was just looking out at the water. I went home and got ready for my shift at the Wreck. Kie had texted me while I drove my bike home.

Kie: Thank you for coming over and I'm sorry my dad made you leave. We still need to talk. Maybe tonight? My parents will be out late if you want to come over. You can let yourself in and I'll be in my room if you decide you want to come
