"Char-" I cut him off quickly.
"Hey Jack." I say awkwardly.
"Charlie-"
I sit up and scoot to the edge of the bed next to him. "I really don't want to talk."
Light cracks through the window from the parking lot. It feels so calm for everything that has been happening.
"Charlie I am sorry for getting mad at you." We both look at our hands. Maybe if we can't see each other it will be better.
"You are forgiven," I whisper. "I was being a dick. I am a dick. If you didn't hear that in the rant. Meant for Jenna."
"Youre not a dick. I said I would wait for you. And I was jealous."
I laugh quietly. "Obviously." He laughs back besides me. His is sad. Why is it sad? I hate hearing him be sad. "I need to talk to you." I say.
"So talk." He simply says.
"Not now. I want to sleep." I look up at him and he nods, laughing. It's a real laugh this time.
"Lets sleep."
I glance at the bed with my eyebrows furrowed.
"Here?" I ask, pointing at Jennas bed.
He nods, his hair flopping back and forth.
I laugh and begin to scoot back. "Okay." My voice is hesitant but we both lay back, on our backs. Our arms still touch.
Slowly after falling asleep, somehow we both entangled in each other. It's one of the best sleeps I've gotten in forever.
