Two months later."We finally done with exams." says Kheto. "All that studying better be worth it because it wasn't easy putting my phone away just to focus on education." I say. "We still doing the Mc Donalds trip?" "I'm up for it. Even if it's just the two of us I know we will turn up." We put our pencil cases in our bags and leave. Me and Kheto were writing in the same exam classroom and we kind of formed a close bond.
We walk to our bench and everyone is there. "Hey guys." I greet. "Hey. How was the final paper?" asks blue crane. I forgot blue crane's name and i know I should feel guilty but I'm not. "It was nice I'm finally done with writing. My phone is calling my name." "You going to watch tik tok?" "I only use tik tok on weekends. I'm busy on wattpad mnah." "What is that?"
"Oh shit she is part of the corrupt gang." says Ayesha and i laugh. "You also have it?" I ask. "Yeah I do." "Well wattpad is this wonderful app that you can use to escape the harsh realities of life." "I want to download it too." says Khulekani and me and Ayesha burst out in laughter. "Sensitive viewers might be forever traumatized." she says.
"How bad can it be?" asks Khulekani. "Okay then download it and see but warning its addictive." I answer. "Okay." "So we still on for the Mc Donalds trip?" asks Kheto. "Yeah we still on." says Tristan. "Hope you organized with your transports to not fetch you." I'm so glad that I'm done with exams. Term one was fun but a bit difficult but nonetheless I enjoyed it.
After lunch we go back to our register class and we chill for an hour and we get dismissed. Schools aren't closing today but I am because I'm hella tired. I've been coming to school everyday and my attendance record is to clean for my liking.
We meet up at the gate and walk to Mc Donalds at Lakeside."Whose going to come to school next week?" asks Khulekani. "I'm not. Nizongbona kahle next term. I'm tired of school." I say and they laugh. (You shall see me properly.) "To those that are going to come may they enjoy school." says Kwenzo. "I'm not coming." says Ayesha. "Since Kwenzo is not coming I'm also not coming cause I refuse to wake up alone." says Kheto.
"I guess nobody is coming. Next term we will find our bench occupied." says Khulekani. "I was about to say I'll fight them but then I'm on my last warning one mistake and I'm out." I say and they laugh. "Uthanda ukulwa why?" asks Kheto. (You love fighting.) "I have no specific reason its just my defense mechanism." "You must teach me some of your moves." "R500 per session." "Udakiwe." (You drunk.)
"Kusemhlabeni lana not everything is free." I say. "Its too much and you must give me family discount." says Kheto and we laugh. "No family discount nothing." He rolls his eyes. We get to Mc Donalds and order our food. After ordering we go sit at a table.
"This term has been a long term man." says Ayesha. "It really has been but I enjoyed it." says Kheto. "What part did you enjoy?" I ask. "I'm not gonna lie but I enjoyed the fight like that made my year." We laugh. "No offense to you Dylan." "Non taken." "I think my favourite part was having a girl in this group." says Ayesha.
Kwenzo looks at me and Ayesha and smirks and i roll my eyes. "Me too. But I only have one question do you still consider us your acquaintances?" asks Kwenzo. Everybody turns their heads towards me and all of a sudden I feel shy. "Okay guys don't look at me like that you making me feel shy." I say and they chuckle.
"I don't consider you my acquaintances anymore you've officially become my friends." I say and they start clapping and whistling. I'm being honest they are my friends now. "Guys we in public." We laugh and the clapping stops. "It's such an honour to be called a friend. The title feels heavy." says Khulekani and we laugh. Our food comes and we dig in. I ate over an hour ago but I was still hungry.
