Kwenzokuhle's POV

Seeing your friend slip away from you and reality really hurts especially if you don't know what to do to save her. She has just faded from reality. She is there physically but emotionally and mentally she is elsewhere. She doesn't want to talk to anyone or see anyone. I watch her take her bags and leave and Ayesha runs after her. I want to tell her to just let her be but I know she misses her and just wants her back.

I sigh and stand up and fetch my bags at the front and walk out. I'm so glad that the prelims are over and i can finally rest. These prelims were draining but I hope I did well. Going through what i am right now I'm proud that i made it to the end. The others catch up to me and we walk towards the vending machine. "Where's Ayesha?" asks Tristan. "She's with Phiwokuhle wherever she is." I answer and they sigh.

"Can't we do something to cheer her up?" asks Khulekani. "I don't think so man. She's gone. We've lost her yet she's still breathing." I answer. "And I was so looking forward to the party this weekend but with everything going I'm just drained." "Are you still going there?" asks Kagiso.

"I'm not sure. I mean we need a break from everything but also our friend is not okay." I answer. "I think we should all go. Surely she would want us to turn up and have fun and not watch her in pity. We also need a break." says Khulekani. "You right." says Tristan. "But I doubt Ayesha will go." "We shall ask her if she's still going."

We see her coming looking defeated. She shut her out again. This thing is taking a toll on her and i want to tell her that maybe she should let her go and wait until she works on herself cause she's inflicting pain on herself whenever she shuts her out. She stands next to me and mumbles a greeting.

"Maybe you should let her go." says Khulekani. "I don't want to give up on her." says Ayesha. "We all don't want to give up on her but we need to give her space to heal on her own. You only hurting yourself by going back each time because you know how she will react." I say. "I'm not listening to you guys. Just because you are quick to give up doesn't mean I'm going to do the same."

"We sorry for suggesting such you can continue trying with her." I say and raise my hands in surrender. "Are you coming to the party?" asks Tristan. "No I'm not going. I just want to rest and think everything through." she answers. "Okay. Don't worry everything will be okay one day." "I hope so too. Are you guys going?"

"We need a break from everything that's going on." I answer. "I understand. Have fun at the party but don't impregnate anyone." she says and we laugh. "Quinton has a zero policy of having sex in his house." says Khulekani. "At least minus hundred pregnancies or so." We laugh. "Lets me go then." says Kagiso.

"Sharp." We bid our farewells and go our separate ways. I find my mom's car parked and i get in the front seat. "Unjani ma?" I ask. (How are you?) "Ngiyaphila wena." she answers. (I'm good and you.) "Nami ngiyaphila." (I'm good too.) "I'm sure you happy that you done with the prelims." "Finally I can have time to chill and relax." "Did you write well?" "Most of the papers I did."

"We will see with the results." she says. "Mm." I hum in agreement. "Are you hungry?" "I could eat a cow." She chuckles. "Is Steers fine?" "It's fine." We drive to the mall and buy takeaways at Steers and walk back to the car. I take out my food and start eating. "How is your friend?" "She's okay." I didn't tell my mom that she got raped I just said she got found and she's still recovering from being kidnapped.
