Kwenzokuhle's POV

"So are you ready for the finals?" asks Kheto. "Can you ever be ready for such." I answer and he chuckles. "Yes. Like you guys should be happy that it's the last exams you are writing for this school thina banye we are doing the same shit next year." "But it's kind of nerve wrecking cause these marks determine your future." "That's the scary part." "But I think I will do well and finally leave and go to the varsity of my dreams."

"Its such a shame that you are leaving me alone here." he says. "But I will visit during the holidays." I say. "But all the chores will fall on my hands like can you believe that." We chuckle. "Its time you learn some responsibilities. When you get to varsity the chores will still be there." "Yeah but at least I'll have a bit of help."

"I'm scared about leaving." I say. "Why would you be scared of freedom?" he asks. "That's what I'm scared of freedom itself." He chuckles. "I would be celebrating that I'm getting freedom." "I'm happy I'll be getting it but at the same time I'm scared because what if I let it get into my head." "I get you on that part. But life is all about making mistakes and learning from them."

"I put too much pressure on myself because of what happened last year." I say. "You shouldn't because everyone sees that you've learned and you even see that you've learned from your mistakes. You should let loose and have fun in life. Forgive yourself for the past you are no longer who you were last year." he says.

"You right." I say and he smiles. "Of course I'm always right. I'm very intelligante." he says and i laugh. "Is that the fancy word for intelligent?" "Yes it is." We laugh. "You a good person Kwenzo and you just got influenced by the wrong crowd. Just as long as you don't associate yourself with wrong people cause you get influenced easily and if you do associate yourself with such learn to stand your ground and say no. Don't give into pressure easily." "Mmm. Thank you for the advice I'll be sure to use it."

"Let me leave you to study then." he says. "You should also study." I say. "I am going now. Pure maths ain't for the weak." "I knew grade 9 its not the one yet I went ahead and chose it." He chuckles. "You brainwashed yourself into thinking you can do it." "I did and look I'm getting 70 and above." He chuckles. "Mara wena."

He stands up and leaves. Once the door closes I change out of my uniform and wear shorts and a t-shirt. I take out my maths book and exam pad and sit at my study desk. I take my phone and text Phiwo to help me with this equation.

Phiwokuhle❤: Face time so I can help you.
I switch to Face time and it rings twice before she answers it.

"You should have just went to maths lit." says Phiwokuhle. "I wanted to but then I was like I can do this so here I am doing it." I say and she laughs. "I'm sure your parents said no child of mine will do maths lit." "They did say that and i didn't have a choice but to listen cause I appreciate the food and clothes." She laughs. "Okay which equation is it?"

I show her the equation and she starts explaining it better than most teachers would do. "If only you became a teacher." I say and she chuckles. "I have zero tolerance and patience for people who don't grasp things quickly." she says and i laugh. "How are you patient with me?" "I only explain it once to you and you get it." "Aren't i smart?" We laugh.
