Linda's POV
I got to my apartment and it felt so lonely. Imagining Ava with Brandon all alone just made me a little bit sad.
I texted Casey to let her know I have arrived here. I wonder... Where's mom?
I called mom and she answered really quick.
"Hey mom.""Hi sweetie? How's Paris?" Right. I forgot to tell her that I was coming back.
"I'm back home mom."
"Oh? Why? What happened?" Panic was in her voice. I missed her.
"My eyes turned yellow and.."
"Are you okay? Please tell me you're okay." I rolled my eyes.
"Mom! Could you please listen?" She went silent. Okay.
"I came back for my surgery. I'm fine." I said and mom was still quiet.
"I'm done talking."
"Honey... You're my only daughter. My only child." Mom said."Where is this coming from?" I asked her.
She went silent.
"Mom...Where are you?""I'm home." She finally said.
"Okay. We'll talk later."
"Okay sweetheart. About Brandon..."
"Please let's not talk about him." I interrupted her.
"Trouble in paradise?" Mom laughed.
"We'll talk later mom. I need to make an appointment."
"I'm looking forward to talk to you." She laughed again. Something is not Right.
After setting my appointment with the doctor, I checked my emails. One from dad.
"Linda.. You HAVE to resign from the company. You have your millions."
What the....
I'm not doing it.I laid down on the couch.
...................................I was woken up by the knock on my door. I groaned walking towards the door.
"Daniel? How did... When did..." Wasn't he in Paris? When did he get here? My appearance...
My braids were all over my face. My face had those lines because of the couch. Oh man.
"Are you gonna let me in or..." Or what?
I finally opened the door wider for him to get in.
"Nice apartment."
"Thanks. I'm actually planning to move out." Was that necessary Linda?" Do you want something to drink?"
"Red wine. You have it right?"
"No." I replied quickly.
"That's your favorite wine. How can you not have it in the house?" He said with amusement in his eyes.
"Okay okay. You got me. I do have it." I mumbled.
I heard him laugh. Jerk.
I poured a glass for him.
"Here." I gave him the glass."Aren't you gonna pour yourself a glass?" He asked and I shook my head sideways.
"Okay. Casey said you only drink it on special occasions." He said observing the wine in the glass.
Damn it Casey.
"Uhh.. yes?"
"Well... Me being here should be a special occasion? Shouldn't it?" My heart beat accelerated. He drank his wine. My last bottle of red wine. At least I have money to replace it. That wine is very expensive.
I sat down next to Daniel. Man! He's so handsome.
"So, why are you here?" I asked out of curiosity.
He placed the glass on the coffee table and turned to face me.
"I came to see you."
"Oh. Okay." This was so awkward. My phone rang and the caller id showed it was Brandon calling.
"I'll take that as my cue to leave." He said placing his lips on my cheek. I'm never going to sleep because of this.
I waved at him while answering the call. He made a 'call me' motion before he closed the door.
"Hey Brandon."
"Linda. I just received your resignation letter. Why are you resigning?"What! Me? Resign?
"No! I didn't send any resignation letter." I said ."Is it because you receive an amount of 20 million dollars!?" He screamed. Oh no. I knew it was wrong to lie to him.
"Look. We'll talk when you come back okay." He didn't respond. He disconnected the call.
Oh he's mad. How did he even..... Oh. It was dad.
