Brandon's POV

I was really surprised when I saw Linda's resignation letter. A few minutes later after Mr Franklin called saying Linda was given an amount of 20 million dollars.

Why would she lie to me?

"Are you okay?" Ava asked holding my shoulder.
"I'm fine!" I snapped.

"Look, about that kiss..."
"It meant nothing. You're my best friend. Nothing more." I said removing her hand off my shoulders.

"Brandon, I know you felt something." I stood up walking away from her. I felt nothing for her. I only want one person.

And that person looked me in the eyes and lied to me. Why am I not mad at her?

I have to go back. I called mom.
"Hey Brandon. How's business?"

"It's doing fine. I was wondering if I could come back." I hope she says yes.

"Uhh... Okay. You can come back."
"Thanks mom."

"So? You and Ava enjoying Paris?" Mom asked and I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

"Yes we are."
"Good. Because you have to attend her father's gala dinner next month." Mom said.

"Okay." I hung up the call.
Seriously?

"Brandon."
"Ava. Not now." I said going to the room that Linda slept in. It still smells like her.

I threw myself on the bed and slept.

Linda's POV

"Linda!" I recognize that voice too well.

"Casey!" I ran to her and we hugged each so tight.

"Wow. You look amazing."
"You too. You're glowing." Casey said and I blushed. I couldn't take compliments.

"Why are you here?"
"Your mom told me that today is your surgery. As your best friend I want to be here with you."

I wanted to cry. Her being here means everything to me.

"Okay girls. I bought coffee." Mom yelled out and everyone looked at her direction. When I say everyone I mean everyone in the waiting room.

I was so happy. My two girls were here supporting me.

"Linda Agustin Craig." The nurse called. I stood up.

Mom held my hand.
"It'll be alright." She said and I nodded. I took a deep breath and got into the ward.

"Just relax okay." The nurse stated. I changed into hospital clothes. The nurse then pulled the injection and injected me. I felt drowsy.

I closed my eyes. I just felt numb.
.................................................

"Do you think she's alive? She hasn't moved."

"Mam, we assure you that the surgery was successful."

I tried to open my eyes but I still couldn't see a thing.

"Mom?" I called.

"Yes honey. I'm here." She held my hand.

"Mom. I still can't see." I said trying to stay calm.

"Relax. They just wrapped a bandage around your head." Casey laughed.

"Oh."

"Okay. We are going to remove the bandage. Her eyes may have a different color than...."

"Just remove the bandage." Mom said impatiently. I smiled.

The doctor finished removing the bandage.

"Come on. Open your eyes." Casey said.

I opened them in slow motion. Everything was blurry at first then all was clear. It was like I'm wearing my glasses but I wasn't wearing them.

"Oh my goodness!" Mom and Casey screamed simultaneously.

"What?" I asked.

Casey cleared her throat.

"What?" I asked again. Mom just stood there with her mouth and eyes opened wide.

"Can I please have a mirror?" I asked and Casey gave me her pocket mirror.

I screamed. What the.....
