Brandon's POV
I messed up. Damn! I really messed up.
"How could you do this to me!?"
"I'm sorry I just..."
"Brandon please calm down." Mom begged. I couldn't. I lost her and it's all their fault!
"Don't. Tell. Me. To calm down! I lost Linda because of your stupid business deal! I thought you were really pregnant, thought I could finally have a family and be happy." I was disappointed.
What angered me was that I also allowed... What was I thinking!?
I picked up my car keys.
"Where are you going?" Ava asked tearstained.
"When I get back here, I want you gone. Get out of my life!"
"Out!" I screamed causing Ava and her friend get out of the house in a hurry.
"Brandon."
"Dad. Please."
I ran outside the house and got inside my car. I hope I'm not too late.

I hesitated to knock but I managed to do it.
"Hey."
"Hi." She replied softly.
"Can I talk to you for a minute? Please?"
"Mom! I'm going outside."
"Okay!"
She closed the door behind her.
"You wanted to talk?"
"Linda. I'm so so so sorry. I've been an idiot. Please forgive me." She looked at me with her eyes widened.
"I.. I forgive you Brandon." She said with a small voice.
I sighed with relief.
"We can get back together and forget all of this."
She shook her head sideways.
"It doesn't work like that Brandon. You got married a week after I 'died'. That showed me that you could replace me." She took a sharp breath.
"I can't... We can't get back together. If Ava was pregnant with your child, would you come here begging for me to come back?" She whispered.
I kept quiet. She's right I would be happy right now. Expecting my first born child.
"Is everything okay here?" Daniel asked kissing Linda on the cheek. I saw Linda blush and I remembered how I was the one who made her blush like that.
"Yeah. Brandon was just leaving." What?
"I won't give up on you Linda." I whispered.
"Move on Brandon. Trust me it's for the best." Linda said tears gathering in her eyes.
I nodded finally accepting that it is too late to get or fight for her love.
"By the way... Happy birthday." I stepped away from her. I could see that she is heartbroken but I had to let her go.
I need to let her go.
I got close to my car to get inside it.
"Brandon wait!" I turned around. Linda threw herself at me giving me a huge hug.
We stayed like that for a while until she stepped away from me.
"Goodbye Brandon."
"Goodbye Linda."
And just like that I lost the love of my life because I put business before my happiness.
I'm not going to let the same mistake happen again. I won't let it.
