Max charged towards me, raged. I managed to get through whatever that was holding me and got up. My wrists were marked.
He ran towards me and threw a fist up in the air. I swiftly dodged and crawled through his escape. He grabbed a giant stick and launched it at me. I dodged it again and kept looking for an exit.
"Max, stop it!", I tried convincing him. No use, he was completely drunk. I found millions of packs of cocaine and wine in the corner of the room.
"Max, this isn't you! Shes just trying to get to you. Please, just trust me!"
He paused and got lost in space. "Brynn?", he mumbled. I hugged him tightly. I felt his grip on the stick let go. He places his hand to my head and another on my back. I felt like I could get lost in his arms forever. As we finally let go, he got back to reality.
Samantha was unconscious on the floor. Turns out, she had slammed her head with the wall. I splashed some water in Simon's face and he also got back to reality. Max was in the bathroom, washing the breath out of his mouth.
I called 9-1-1 and told the operator what was up. In no time, the cops came and took care of everything. We all got a ride to the hospital to check if we were okay.

The next morning, I woke up exhausted. I came late to school but since everyone already knew what happened, they made it excused.
I didn't talk in any classes. In lunch, Nat and Danny tried to make Max and I talk. We just glanced at each other, then back at our shoes. No thought was left in my mind.

In dance, Ms.Dee allowed me to exchange classes for music. Mr.Mars was excited to hear the good news. Since Simon and I were the most talented and youngest, we were allowed to touch any instrument in the class.
I decided to play the Titanic song "My Heart Will Go On" for a bit. I heard Mr.Mars singing and I laughed inside. His french accent always turned my frown upside down.
As Simon walked in, my smile faded. He sat next to me and we got lost in each others eyes. I turned my head and placed my head against his shoulder. He didn't seem to mind.
I kept playing the song and he played along. Mr.Mars kept singing and we just chuckled.

Today was an off day. I texted my mom after school and told her I was going to head to the park for a bit.
When I got there, I climbed up a hill and laid there, staring at some funny looking clouds.
Coincidentally, I found Max. I waved at him and he waved back. He had a wide smile across his face as if everything was fine.
He plopped himself next to me.
"Hey... Look, about yesterday...", I didn't know what to say.
"Brynn, I didn't do drugs. She shoved a glass of wine down my throat and then I felt all loopy. I not an addict."
I was completely relieved. Maybe she did the same with Simon. We both stared at each other. His brown eyes glistened a long with his braced smile.
"And... Im sorry about what happened back at the hospital. I didn't mean to--", he paused and looked up at the clouds. I looked a long with him.
He chuckled as a lollipop shaped cloud hovered over our heads. "Remember when we used to share everything when we were younger?"
I chuckled a long with him. "Yea. I dropped my lollipop once and you gave me one you had saved for your mom."
We both laughed. As I tried to fix my seating position, my hand accidentally lands on his. We both look down at out hands united. Max turns over his hand and crosses his fingers over mine. I did the same.
Our foreheads touched and our eyes fixed on each other. I feel warm lips press themselves against mine.
