After a few long seconds, we both finally let go. As we got lost in each other's eyes, I felt magical. As Max fixed his hand on mine, I realized what had just happened. Oh no.

I quickly let go and push my self up from the soft grass.

"Brynn?", Max got up along with me. The wind blew against our hair which gave me butterflies; guilty butterflies.

"Look, Max. I...", I choked on my words. I couldn't speak. Guilt had filled me up from head to toe. I really liked the kiss, it was completely magical yet I hated him for doing this to me. I was happy yet pissed off at the same time. I couldn't tell what I felt more.

"Brynn, I know your dating Simon and you really like him. But...", he also choked on his words. He looked down at his shoes and softly held my hand. "I like you. Like, a lot. I understand this is wrong for both you and me but, I really like you."

"Max, I already know that you like me and I like you too but NOT in that way..."

"Then why did you kiss me?"

A long moment of silence filled the air. I could literally hear the birds peeping from a mile away.

I slid my hand away from his and stuffed it in my back pocket. "I got to go, Max."

As I started to walk away, his hand was placed on my shoulder. "I know you like me, Byrnn."

I shoved his hand away. "Bye, Max."

As I got home, I plopped myself down on the bed. That's when mom came in.

"Hey honey. Sorry I wasn't here yesterday. I had to stay overnight and my battery died."

"That's okay mom.", I sat up straight and played with the rose Simon had given me.

"Honey, are you okay?", she stared at me with a worried face.

I began to tell her the story. As I finished I broke into tears.

I couldn't handle any more of this love triangle. I couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Honey, I see your in quite a pickle and you really need to get your mind off of things."

"But what can I do? I see their faces everyday!", I whined.

There was a dead silence across the room.

When I noticed mom's eyes were widened, I knew a light bulb had lit up above her head.

"Your moving to California."
