A few days had passed since Jayfeather had told Y/W/N about the stick, the ancient cats, and his possible feelings. Y/W/N had continued sleeping in the warriors den at night, dodging any questions other cats had about it.

Though Y/W/N wanted to talk to Jayfeather, she had no idea what'd she say. How was she supposed to deal with this, and with whatever's going on with K/A/N? Not to mention the dream about her past?

Y/W/N left the warriors den, shivering at the cold leaf-bare air. Though the snow on the ground was kind of pretty, the coldness and scarce prey made the she-cat mostly hate this season.

Y/W/N looked out across the camp, and realized that she had ended up sleeping through the early morning patrols, and Brambleclaw was in the midst of organizing some midday patrols.

The warrior padded over to listen, sitting next to Poppyfrost. She listened to Brambleclaw, but kept glancing over to see what Jayfeather was doing.

Brambleclaw didn't put Y/W/N on any of the patrols so she went to the apprentice den to get Emeraldpaw, deciding to do some training with him.

The warrior poked her head into the apprentice den, looking around for her apprentice. She spotted Emeraldpaw sitting with K/A/N, talking.

Y/W/N padded over to them. "Hey Emeraldpaw," She said, making both apprentices look at her, though K/A/N rolled her eyes.

"Let's go train for bit, alright?" Y/W/N said. Emeraldpaw nodded, getting up and saying goodbye to K/A/N before following his mentor out.

Y/W/N and Emeraldpaw went out to the training hollow. "Alright, uh, let's work on your battle training" Y/W/N explained. "First, I want you to try to attack me, claws staying sheathed, alright? We'll see how you do and go from there."

Emeraldpaw nodded and got into his own fighting stance, though it was awkward, showing he's never really fought much before.

Emerldpaw seemed to study his mentor for a moment, then ran up to Y/W/N, jumping to pounce on her. The warrior sidestepped her apprentice and then brought some of her weight down on Emeraldpaw, lightly pinning him.

"Not a bad idea, but you could definitely execute that better. I saw that coming from tail-lengths away." Y/W/N said as she got off her apprentice.

Emeraldpaw stood up and shook his pelt out, nodding to what his mentor had said. He backed up to give himself space to try again.

"Try not being so obvious about where you want to attack. Like, make sure you're not looking at exactly where you're going to attack." Y/W/N explained, similar to how Brightheart trained her moons ago. "Try to not be so obvious with your attacks."

Emeraldpaw nodded and got back into a battle stance, taking in his mentors advice and trying to misdirect where he was targeting by looking at a different part of Y/W/N's body than from where he was actually targeting.

Y/W/N kept going with Emeraldpaw for most of the day until she noticed that the apprentice seemed to be getting cold in the leaf-bare weather. "Come on, let's stop for today. Don't need you becoming an icicle out here." She said, to which the apprentice seemed to relax at.

Y/W/N led Emeraldpaw back to camp, and let him go socialize with the other apprentices, though Y/W/N noticed he pratically went straight towards K/A/N. The gray and P/C apprentice didn't seem to mind, though didn't look at her mother at all.

Y/W/N sighed and padded away, looking for her own thing to do. She thought about going into the medicine cat den to see and maybe talk to Jayfeather, possibly get the medicine cat to use his dreamwalking power to help her understand the memories she's been dreaming about, but was still uneasy about everything that had happened, so she opted not to.

The P/C warrior ended up sitting by the nursery for a bit, just dwelling on her thoughts and grooming her pelt until Poppyfrost padded up to her.

"Hey Y/W/N, some cats from Thunderclan and Shadowclan are going down to the lake, wanna come?" She asked, which snapped Y/W/N out of her thoughts.

"Oh, uh, yeah, sure." Y/W/N responded, stretching and getting back up. She followed Poppyfrost out of the camp and down to the lakeshore, but stopped as they were travelling through the territory, looking at something she noticed moving through the undergrowth.

Poppyfrost looked back, and Y/W/N just waved her off. "Spotted some prey, gonna see if I can catch it, I'll meet you at the lake." The P/C cat said, and Poppyfrost nodded, leaving to the lake.

Y/W/N snuck through the undergrowth to where she saw the movement. She made sure to stay low and in a hunting position, assuming she had seen prey, but hadn't scented anything yet.

Y/W/N moved around where the prey was, trying to make sure she was downwind of it. Once she was sure she was approaching it downwind, she got closer, and even noticed the movement again.

As the warrior approached, she noticed it now looked more like another cat, not prey. She felt a little dumb for not realizing it from the movement, but kept approaching it slowly and carefully, as to make sure she wouldn't alert them yet.

As soon as she got close enough, Y/W/N stalked out into the clearing to confront the cat... and no one was there. Y/W/N scented around and there were no scents, nothing that showed that anything had come through here before the P/C cat recently.

I could have sworn I saw something...  Y/W/N thought. She padded around for a moment, scenting and looking before sighing and giving up. I guess I was wrong?

Y/W/N shook her head and padded away, going to the lake. She glanced back to make sure, and still saw nothing, so she left.

Y/W/N, already being a cat who disliked the cold of leaf-bare, stayed on the shore and watched, trying her best to stay warm and chat with others who decided not to be on the ice as well. She also didn't want to play the game after spending half the day training Emeraldpaw, so she was also opting to relax.

A small group ended up venturing onto the frozen lake, and after seeing it was solid, ended up skating around the ice covered lake, and decided to play a game around it.

Y/W/N didnt mind it though, as she watched Jayfeather mostly, as for whatever reason the blind tom had decided to try to be on the ice, though he wasn't too good at the game, which was basically two teams just trying to score something in the others goals, so being blind definitely didn't help.  (For anyone who didn't understand, the cats are playing hockey basically XD).

Y/W/N turned to talk to Poppyfrost, and just as she turned away from the lake, she heard something loud breaking and right after cats were yowling. Y/W/N looked back over, fur on end now, and watched cats panic, and suddenly could see a bundle of gray drop down into the lake, which seemed to have a hole now from where some ice had seemingly broken.
