"Do you have any information that can be used to bring down your father?" Chan's brows furrowed as he leaned closer to Kiera. "Is there anything that we can use to destroy his public image and his credibility? Right now, your father has thousands of people believing every word that comes out of his mouth."

"Our reputation is on the line here," Chan continued. "If we don't do something, we'll have our own people turning against us."

"Why can't you just kill him?"

"That's too easy. Besides, what do you think would happen? His position would be given to the vice president. He has the same mindset as your dad. It'd just lead to riots and chaos. It'd be better to expose him for something he's done wrong and have it blow up in his face."

Kiera shrugged, "I'm not sure I know of anything that could help you. My dad never talked about his enemies around me. Sure he'd talk about people he disliked, but he never went into detail. He never name dropped anyone. There's never been anything he's done that's been awful."

Chan tugged on the metal lip piercing with his top row of teeth. He began to zone out while his mind spun in circles. It was clear that Kiera wasn't lying to him. Her body language suggested that she was uncomfortable talking about everything and somewhat ashamed of it all. How was he going to beat Willie Campbell?

The pair sat in silence for a while. Kiera glanced up at Chan once, but quickly looked away when she realized the wheels in his head were turning. She didn't want to interrupt and break his train of thought.

After a few more seconds of silence, Chan shoved himself away from the table. The metal chair scraped across the floor with a loud screech. Kiera jumped at the sudden noise and looked up at him shocked. A grin began to tug at the corners of his face.

"What is it?" Kiera asked.

"I figured out how to take your father down." He spun around on his heel and headed towards the door and then froze. He turned back towards Kiera. "Come on, I'll take you back to your room."

She moved out of her seat and followed him without a sound. Before she left, she dropped her half-eaten lollipop into the trash can. She wondered if he was going to explain his realization to her, but he never did. Instead, he opened up another wooden door.

She walked into it and without another word, it slammed behind her, and the lock clicked into place. She let out a soft sigh and glanced around the room. So this was where she'd continue to stay for the time being? Entertained by nothing, but a twin sized bed, and two pillows.

She realized that it was silly. The hope that maybe something would transpire and she'd be let in on everything. She was only here for their benefit, so she shouldn't be surprised that she'd be left alone. After all, she was their hostage.

Walking over to her bed, she let herself flop down on her back. She stared up at the ceiling with a variety of questions. Even if her dad didn't try to rescue her, would she be here forever? Just a captive locked away in a room spending the rest of her life bored out of her mind?

She shut her eyes and began to push the negative thoughts away. She had to try to stay positive for her own sake. Staying in a negative mindset wasn't going to help her accomplish anything. She needed to figure out how she'd escape.

A soft knock at her door caused her to shoot up. The door opened to reveal Felix standing with a plate of half-eaten pancakes. He gripped the plate with one hand, pulled his lollipop out of his mouth, and grinned. "I don't know what you did, but you've got Chan locked away in his warehouse office scribbling in a notebook."

"Is that a good thing?"

He nodded, "he's planning something big." He tucked the lollipop away in the pocket of his inner cheek and the corner of his mouth. "I brought you the rest of your pancakes. I figured that you'd still be hungry."

"You didn't have to do that. I'm not really hungr-" She was cut off by her stomach grumbling.

Amusement flashed across Felix's freckled face, "as you were saying?"

"I'll finish the pancakes."

He gave them to her and pulled out a water bottle from the side pocket of his jeans. "I brought this for you too. I was afraid that you'd choke on the pancakes."

"Thanks." She grabbed the water bottle and took a sip of it.

"So what did you and Channie talk about?" Felix dived into the empty side of her bed and propped himself up with his elbows. His chin rested in his palms as his white-socked feet wiggled in the air behind him.

"He was trying to figure out something that could take down my dad." She took a bite of one of the pancakes and swallowed it. "I'm not sure what he realized, but he figured something out, apparently."

"So are you two getting along now?"

"I guess? That doesn't mean I'm still not pissed off that he pulled my hair." The memory of it irked her. He didn't have to be a dick in the beginning.

"That's fair. Everyone in this group has their own issues. He can be uptight sometimes."

Kiera scoffed, "you can say that again. You can practically see the stick that's skewered up his ass."

Felix let out a laugh and glanced away. Kiera was resilient and had a sense of humor and Chan was an uptight asshole. He bit down on his lollipop to hide the smirk that was starting to appear on his face.

His fun was only just beginning.
