A/N: Trigger warning for mentions of child abuse.

_ _ _

When Lee Know saw I.N going back upstairs with the kitchen scissors in his hands, he instantly stopped him and demanded to know what he was doing. The last time I.N tried to use scissors on someone's hair, Felix was his victim. He tried to trim Felix's hair and when he cut, Felix sneezed. Three inches of Felix's hair hit the ground. Since then, I.N had been banned from cutting anyone's hair.

When I.N explained he wanted to cut Kiera's hair, Lee Know took over. He cut Kiera's hair to her shoulders perfectly. Taking his time, he snipped away hair with narrowed eyes and furrowed brows. By the time he finished, Kiera felt a lot lighter.

I.N wasted no time shimmying his hands into the plastic gloves that came with the box of dye. He briefly glanced over the directions. His eyes barely took in the words before he tossed the box to the side. With a splat, he squeezed a glob of dye into his hand and slapped it on the top of Kiera's head.

Felix sat on the edge of the bathtub and watched I.N work. Kiera's body relaxed while Felix and I.N talked. Her eyes fluttered shut and I.N sectioned her hair. He placed a piece of hair on a strip of foil, covered it with a few brush strokes of dye, and folded the foil up. He hadn't dyed anyone's hair before, but he saw people do this in YouTube videos. If it worked for them, it must work for him too.

The chemical scent of the dye drifted around the room. I.N continued the process of separating, dying, and folding Kiera's hair. The lollipop remained in the corner of her mouth. Behind them, Felix held two more boxes of hair dye. He eyed I.N's clear bowl still half-filled with dye. "Do you think we bought too much?"

"I think so, yeah. I'm already nearly half-way done. I thought it'd take a lot longer, but her hair is so much shorter now."

"Already?" Kiera mumbled.

"Mm-hmm." I.N folded another section of foil. "I've been working pretty fast, so yeah."

Felix turned one of the boxes around to read the back. I.N began to ask Kiera a handful of random questions. Felix zoned out and flipped the box back around. He stared at the photo on the front of the box. A guy and girl looked back at him with matching jet black hair.

His eyes glanced up to Kiera. The hair dye hadn't washed out yet, but she seemed much happier with her hair a different color. He tugged a piece of his hair up and eyed it from the side. He was naturally a brunette. He only began to bleach it a few months after he met Chan.

When he bleached his hair, he purchased the bright blue contacts to go with them. Every time he looked in the mirror, he was reminded of his parents. Guilt about the situation always seemed to consume him. It wasn't his fault his parents were dead, but it felt like it was. If he would have run when he first saw them tied up, he could have gotten help. If he would have forced his body to move and fought back, they'd still be alive.

His fingers tightened around the box. Kiera was thrilled about the idea of a makeover. Maybe he needed a new one too. "Kiera?" He finally spoke up.

"Yes?"

"Do you think you'd like me if I had brown eyes?"

"Of course, I would. Your eye color doesn't change who you are." Kiera's eyes met Felix's in the bathroom mirror.

"I have to tell you something."

"What is it?"

"My eyes are the same color as yours."

"Really?" Kiera's head perked up.

"Woah, careful!" I.N lifted his hands away from Kiera. "I nearly almost smeared dye across the middle of your forehead. This stuff is pretty permanent."
