Chan placed Kiera on the living room couch. She pulled off Han's beanie and tossed it to the side. A hand ran through her hair as reality sunk in. Felix and Han mumbled good-nights and went to their own rooms. Changbin went back to the gym. Chan disappeared to go talk to Hyunjin and left Kiera alone with Lee Know.

After parking in the driveway, Chan slung her over his shoulder to bring her inside. The beanie was on and it was dark, but he didn't want to risk it. Her face faced his back and she pretended to be asleep. The neighbors shouldn't have been observing outside this late, but nobody knew for sure.

"Here you go. Here's a pillow and here's a few blankets. The guys like to keep the house a little cooler." Lee Know placed a pillow on the edge of the couch and placed a stack of folded blankets next to it. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, just shaken up."

"That's expected, but you'll be okay. I know it must have been a shock to be woken up like that. We tried to call, but Han and Felix wouldn't pick up their cell phones."

"They turned them off in the middle of the movie. I guess they never turned them back on. They didn't mean to cause any issues."

"It's alright, we got everyone out of the building alive and that's all that matters. Are you going to be okay here or do you want me to stay with you?"

"I'll be okay, but thanks for the offer."

"The bathroom is down that hall," he pointed to the side, "and to the left. I'll be up in a few hours to make breakfast. If you get hungry before then, the kitchen is filled with food and drinks. There are cups in the cupboard by the fridge."

"Thank you."

"Good night, Kiera."

"Good night." Kiera watched him disappear down the hall. Within seconds, a door creaked open and then closed. She was left alone in silence.

Someone turned a table lamp on. The small light didn't provide much light, but it was just enough that Kiera could see. She grabbed the pillow and placed it on the end of the couch. Flopping down on it, she stared up at the white ceiling. Sleep was the last thing on her mind right now.

Thoughts buzzed around her head like a swarm of bees. Why did Marvin set off the bombs at the Bella-Nova? She saw the speech her dad made a few days ago. He announced she was dead, so why was Marvin hunting her down? Why did it matter anymore?

For minutes, she laid there and let her thoughts consume her. One after the next, after the next, after the next. Why? How? What was the reason? On whose orders? What was the meaning of all of it? She squeezed her eyes shut and tried to focus on something else.

A door creaked open and footsteps approached her. She shoved herself off the couch and glanced back at the hall. Her eyes met Chan's and she let out a soft sigh of relief. "Chan?"

He paused in his tracks. He had changed into a pair of black joggers and a light gray t-shirt. He hadn't taken his socks off yet. "Are you okay?" Wariness brushed through him.

"Yeah, but can I talk to you?"

"What's up?" He walked closer.

"Can we go somewhere more private?" Kiera glanced over his shoulder. She wasn't sure if anyone would be able to hear her through their doors. She wanted to talk to him one-on-one.

"Yeah, we can go to my bedroom. It's upstairs and away from everyone." Chan turned around and began walking away. Kiera stood up and hurried after him. The two of them made their way up the stairs. Chan opened his door and gestured for her to enter. When she followed, he entered behind her.
