Lee Know was up earlier than everyone else as per usual. He hummed beneath his breath and began to crack eggs into a few circular silicone egg rings. This morning's menu was bacon, egg, and cheese bagels. The silicone rings provided the perfect circular eggs. He tossed the shells in the trash can and watched the eggs cook.

His head snapped to the side upon hearing a loud squeal. He glanced back down at the eggs. He didn't want to leave them, but he needed to see what the noise was. He walked through the living room and made a mental note of Kiera's disappearance. When he woke up, she hadn't been on the couch and she still wasn't there.

He assumed she went to Felix's room. Sometimes Felix got up early and since her arrival, the two of them had been close. He passed through the living room and peered down the main hallway. The wooden doors were all closed and there wasn't any movement.

Lee Know ignored them and climbed the steps to the second floor. Rounding the stairwell, he paused when he saw Felix, at the far end of the hall, with a hand over his mouth. Lee Know rushed over towards him worried that something happened. He kept his voice low, "is everything alright?"

He placed a hand on Felix's shoulder and glanced into Chan's room. His eyes widened as he stared at the sight before him. Kiera's face was buried in Chan's chest. His arm wrapped around her body and pulled her close to him. The two of them were sound asleep.

Lee Know blinked a few times wondering if he was seeing this right. Felix squeezed the wolf plushie in his arms. A large grin sat on his face as he beamed at Lee Know. "It worked!"

"What worked?"

"I've been trying to get them together."

"You've what?" Lee Know glanced at Felix in disbelief.

"I've been playing matchmaker. I always knew they'd look cute together. Look at them!" Felix cooed.

"Why would y-"

"I'm tired of Channie being alone! He needed someone to take care of him. He barely listens to us and when Kiera showed up, it seemed like the obvious choice. I got her to confess the crush she had on him and then all I had to do was try to get Chan to like her back. I think they'll be good together. Kiera needs someone to care about her too."

Lee Know sighed and shook his head. "Just let them sleep for now. I've got to go back downstairs and continue making breakfast. Why don't you join me?"

"I will in a few minutes."

Lee Know nodded and disappeared back down the hall. He shook his head and mumbled beneath his breath. He hadn't seen Chan in a relationship and he wasn't so sure it was a good idea. Chan had a lot of trauma that affected him in a variety of different ways. In his mind, Chan needed to work on himself before he entered a romantic relationship with anyone.

Back at the edge of Chan's room, Felix walked into the bedroom and shut the door behind him. He paused and glanced at the pair again. Neither one reacted to his conversation with Lee Know. Both their chests continued to move steadily up and down. He moved the wolf into one arm and walked up to the edge of the bed.

He poked the bottom of Chan's calf a few times, but Chan never responded. He began to gently pat the top of Chan's foot. "Channie? Channie? Channie, wake up." Chan shifted and Felix hit his leg a little harder.

Chan's eyes popped open and he narrowed his eyes down at Felix. A yawn escaped his mouth. "What is it, Pup?"

"Channie, I had another nightmare."

Chan glanced over at Kiera. Trying not to wake her up, he gently pulled his arm from beneath her. The movement caused Kiera to stir. Her eyes half opened and she glanced over at Chan.

"Good morning, Kiera!" Felix chirped.

Kiera rolled away from Chan and she glanced over at Felix. She should have been mortified about the situation, but since she was still tired, she didn't care. "What's wrong?"

"I had a nightmare."

She glanced over at Chan. He was rubbing his eyes and still trying to wake up. "Why don't you climb into bed with us? There's room for three."

"Really?"

"Go ahead," Chan agreed.

Felix grinned and launched himself into the now opened spot between Kiera and Chan. He placed his head on one of Chan's extra pillows and yanked a fuzzy black blanket over him. He pulled his wolf beneath his chin and wrapped his arms around it again.

On the opposite side of the bed, Kiera closed her eyes. Chan shifted and shoved a blanket off of his torso. "Can you guys get closer?" Felix's question caused Chan and Kiera to stop.

"Can we do what?" Chan mumbled.

"Can you get closer? It makes me feel safe."

Kiera moved over a bit so she was closer to Felix's body. Chan did the same thing. "Thank you, good night." Felix closed his eyes with a closed-lip smile on his face.

He was taken back to being a kid again. When he used to have night terrors and he'd rush into his parents room. He'd curl his small body in-between them while they slept. It felt safe and cozy. Nothing could harm him while he was between his parents. No monster or man could reach him between the impenetrable barrier of love and blankets.

That was then and this was now. His parents were dead, but he had Chan and now he had Kiera. Sure, they weren't his parents, but it was the closest thing he'd get to having parents. He missed his parents dearly, even if his father scammed people out of their money, his father loved him.

As long as everything went right and he continued to get them closer to each other, nothing bad could happen, he was sure of it.
