Lollipop

The best part about the Bella-Nova Art Gallery wasn't the gallery itself. It wasn't the wide variety of pieces of art that sat around on display. It wasn't the wall of windows that let the sun light up the front of the building. It wasn't the larger than life golden pillars or the golden detailing that hung around the edges of every room. It wasn't even the sparkling white floor.

No, it wasn't any of that.

The best part of the Bella-Nova hotel was behind a wooden door that said 'staff only.' When you walked through the door, there were a few rooms in the back. One was a private bathroom for the staff members. Another was a break room with a fridge filled with fresh drinks and cupboards full of snacks.

The best part was the secret in the third room. When you walked in, it looked like a normal office. It belonged to Hyunjin himself. A dark cherry desk atoned with a mug of pens. A desktop computer pushed off to the side. A large printed calendar had been placed along the bottom of the desk, so he knew when things were.

Behind the desk sat a large variety of books. There were hundreds of them evenly stacked on tall bookcases. They covered almost every topic imaginable. From books filled with art pieces by fellow artists, to his favorite authors, to books that he hadn't even read at all. He had just needed books to hide the secret.

On the second to top shelf, of the third bookcase, sat a rustic green book. One tug of the book and the bookshelf popped open. Behind the bookshelf were rooms that Hyunjin had turned into a second home. Sometimes everyone needed space from each other. If the guys weren't home, there was a high possibility they were in the hidden space at the back of the Bella-Nova.

That's the spot where Hyunjin had placed his art gallery. After he had met everyone, he didn't want to be selfish. The guys had helped furnish it and turned it into a second home. One of the rooms had been turned into a conference room.

A large rectangular wooden table sat in the middle of the room. Black rolling chairs sat around the table. Expo markers and a whiteboard sat at the front of the room. It was where they all usually did their planning. They discussed who they were going to go after and why.

When Hyunjin finally made his way into the conference room, he wasn't surprised to see everyone already bickering. It looked like Changbin was yelling at Chan about something. His face was bright red and his eyebrows were furrowed. Hyunjin quietly made his way down to the very end of the table and plopped in a chair beside Felix.

"Hi!" Felix grinned at him.

"Did I miss anything important?"

He pursed his lips together and shrugged. "Changbin is mad at the world again. Channie mentioned earlier that one of his old military buddies was recently killed overseas. He doesn't know how to cry anymore, so now he just screams."

Hyunjin crossed his arms over his chest and glanced up at the front of the room. Chan was staring at Changbin with a blank look on his face. The whole thing was almost amusing.

"Lollipop?" Felix held out the small rainbow swirled sucker towards him. His eyes twinkled with delight.

"No thank you."

Felix shrugged, ripped off the wrapper, and shoved the sugary sweet candy into his mouth. His mood instantly improved. Both legs bounced beneath the table as he hummed to himself. He ripped the sucker out of his mouth with a loud pop. Hyunjin shook his head.

"Oh, Binnie," Felix purred from across the table.

"What?" Changbin's head instantly snapped towards him. Face cemented in a scowl, he only glared at him. "What the fuck do you want?"

"Lollipop?" Felix grinned again and held up the sucker.

"Fuck off!" He turned back towards Chan and started yelling again.

Felix's face instantly fell and was replaced with a frown. "What a fucking prick. I just thought that a lollipop would make him feel a bit better."

"I don't think lollipops will bring back his dead friend, but, at least, you tried. Don't beat yourself up over it." Hyunjin leaned closer towards him, so he could hear him better. "You know how he gets when he's angry." He reached up and ruffled a hand through Felix's hair. "Forgive and forget, yeah?"

"Yeah, yeah, forgive and forget."

"Can I have a lollipop now?"

His eyes lit up at once, "you want one? Really?"

"Can I have one too?" I.N leaned across the table towards him.

"Not if you're going to do what you did last time," Hyunjin cut in.

"And what did I do last time?"

"The two of you consumed multiple lollipops, had a sugar rush, and then you graffitied a cop car. Do you know how much trouble the two of you could have gotten in if you were caught?"

"Seungmin gave us the idea!" I.N whined. "He offered us money to do it."

"He what?" Hyunjin's eyes widened at once. "Seungmin, tell me you fucking didn't!" He glared over at the man.

Seungmin had already had a lollipop in his mouth from earlier. He huffed and ripped it out of his mouth. "What did I tell you? How many times do I have to say it?"

"Fuck around and find out," Felix and I.N muttered together.

Seungmin nodded and shoved the half-eaten candy back on his rainbow colored tongue.

"Fuck around and find out."
