Back to school shopping. When realization that summer is about to end hits you. I hate it. Always have and always will. End of story.
Evelyn moved into Tobias's house a week ago, and I can tell he's happy with her instead of Marcus there.
I walk down the stairs wearing black shorts, a blue long sleeve shirt that says 'Disney's Lost Princess,' and white converse.
The only reason why I got dressed this morning was to go back to school shopping with Christina. Which will end up with clothes shopping. Hooray.
I make my way to the kitchen and take out a bowl from the cabinet. I pour Fruit Loops in the bowl and milk over the Fruit Loops.
I set the bowl on the island and sit on one of the stools. My breakfast is peaceful until Caleb runs into the kitchen, takes out a bagel and puts it in the toaster, pours coffee into a mug, takes the bagel out of the toaster and spreads cream cheese on it, and finally digs his teeth into the bagel.
My brother is such a weirdo. "Classy," I say. He jumps and I assume that he didn't realize I was in the kitchen.
"Morning to you too," he replies with a mouthful of bagel. Wet bagel bits fly all over me and my cereal.
"I'm gonna say one word. Ssswwwaaallllooowww."
He holds up a finger and eventually swallows his food. "Sorry."
"Whatever." I dump the rest of my Fruit Loops in the sink and put the bowl and spoon in the dishwasher after rinsing them out.
I grab my purse and head out to my car. I open the driver side door and get in. I put my purse in the passenger seat and buckle my seatbelt before backing out of my driveway. I roll my windows down as I drive to the mall.
When I get there, I turn into the parking lot and try to find Christina's car. I eventually find it and park next to it.
I grab my purse and head to the food court where I told Christina I would meet her. I find her in front of the Starbucks with a s'mores frappuccino for her, and a caramel one for me.
Her back is turned to me, so I tip toe over to her, put my hands on her shoulders, and say, "Boo!"
She screams and jumps. "Oh my god, Tris! Why'd you do that?!"
Through my fit of laughter, I reply with "Because, I had the perfect opportunity and I went for it."
"Ready for back to school shopping?!" She says with fake enthusiasm.
I stop laughing. "Do we have to?"
"Yes."
I groan.
"Oh, poor Trissy Poo."
"Don't ever call me that."
"Whatever."
I playfully stick my tongue out at her and she does the same. We laugh and she hands me my caramel frappuccino.
She stands up and we walk to Target, sipping our frappuccinos on the way.

Time Lapse

Three hours of shopping and we finally get to checkout. Christina and I take all of the things out of the cart and put them on the conveyor belt. After we're done I look at some of the magazines and my eyes freeze on People. On the cover is me in denim shorts with rips in them, high top converse, a really cute tank top that my mom designed, and a really cute panama hat. That headline says, "Designer Natalie Prior Opens Up About Son and Daughter Caleb and Tris."
"Oh, my god! Christina, look!" I grab Christina's arm and point to the magazine.
"You're on the cover of People Magazine!"
