started as a lie

today is the new year's party. it's 31st of december 5pm. i'm dressed and ready for the party.

leah isn't here yet. she's going straight to the club from milton keynes.

i went there in a taxi and paid the driver before walking in.

i was met by tonnes of people, loud booming music and laser lights.

i found some of the arsenal girls and got some drinks.

i was about 5 drinks in when leah got here.

"hello darling, you look amazing" she said in my ear.

"you look great leah" i said.

we had some more drinks and then got dancing.
i was dancing with some random people, when suddenly i felt a girl around my age getting slightly handsy with me.

"what's your name lovely" she asked.
"sophia" i said.

we carried on dancing and her hands moved up and down my sides.

suddenly i was pulled away by my arm.

"i think you need to slow down on the drinks darling" leah said. she hadn't been drinking much, probably because she was keeping an eye on me.

i listened to leah and slowed down on the drinks.

after a few hours, the countdown to midnight was upon us. everyone was stood with their partners waiting to kiss at midnight.

all i could think of was the one person i wanted to kiss at midnight. leah.

i couldn't see her. but i couldn't kiss her either. i cant make this awkward. she's too important to me to lose her. what if she doesn't like me back.

but what if she does...

i felt a pair of lips on mine. lips i immediately recognised as hers. i felt complete relief as i kissed the girl i had been craving. the lips i had needed so desperately against mine.

"happy new year darling" came her soothing voice.

"happy new year le" i said.

i put my hands at the back of her neck and pulled her into me again. i kissed her lips passionately as fireworks erupted from outside.

we went outside together and watched the fireworks. i hugged her waist and put my head at her chest. she put her arms around me and placed lots of soft kisses at my head.

"i like you soph" leah said.

"i like you too le" i said.

"will you be my girlfriend" she asked shyly.

"of course i will leah" i said with a huge smile.

"i'm so glad you found me at midnight" i said.

"me too" she smiled.

"there you two are" katie said, walking out of the club.

"we've been looking everywhere for youse" beth added on.

"oh my god. are you two a thing?" beth squealed. i looked up at leah and bit my bottom lip.

"yeah" leah said proudly.

"since when" katie almost shouted.

"since about 2 minutes ago" leah laughed.

"oh, we didn't interrupt the moment did we?" beth asked.

"kinda but it's okay" i said.

"lots of us are going back to beth and vivs if you want to come. unless you have other plans" katie winked.

"no we will come, it's closer than our house" i said.

we went inside and some girls went home.

the girls staying at beth's, got into a taxi together.

we soon arrived and went into her house.

they gave us different clothes to wear for bed and me and leah got the guest room while katie and caitlin got the sofas.

we got dressed and then got into bed. i rested my head on leah's chest and put one hand at her face, stroking over her cheek with my thumb.

she kept her arms tightly around my back and kissed my head.

"good night darling" she whispered into my head.

"good night leah" i whispered back.

i fell asleep in her arms finally happy with what we are.
