started as a lie

me and leah were woken by a knock at our bedroom door.

"come in" i said.

leo walked in.

"i'm going to head off, i'll see you around maybe" he said.

"have you eaten breakfast" i asked. he shook his head.

"stay for breakfast leo" leah said.

"i'll get something on my way. my dad will be wondering where i am. it's a long drive" he said.

"alright come, i'll see you out" i said. i got out of bed and went downstairs with him.

"i've already spoken to lily. please keep her safe for me. look after her" he said.

"i will mate, she's safe with us." i said putting my hand at his back. "and you. stay safe. if you need anything at all, please message. i'm here for you too" i told him.

"thanks sophia" he said. i hugged him and he walked off to his car.

i went back in and saw lily sat on my bed with leah.

"so what do we want to do today then?" i asked.

"is there anywhere that you want to see" leah asked. lily just shrugged her shoulders.

"there's a new crazy mini golf place that's just opened, we can go there" i suggested "and then we can go to this little cafe"

"yeah" lily said.

the look on leah's face when i suggested the mini golf almost made me laugh out loud. i know exactly how she feels about crazy golf.

we got up and got ready. leah made breakfast for all of us.

we sat and ate and then got ready to go out.

i drove us to the crazy golf place and we chatted on the journey about random things.

when we got there, i paid for us to do 2 of the courses.

we did a few holes and leah started her whining.

"this isn't even real golf so it doesn't count" she said.

"shut up leah. your only saying that because your losing" i laughed.

we finished one of the courses. lily won and leah lost.

we were about halfway through the second one.

lily got a hole in one.

"yes lily" i said and high-fived her.

i did mine and i got it in 2

leah did hers and was struggling.

"that's not even fair. if the ground was flat, i would have got it" she said. she crossed her arms as we moved on to the next one.

"leah stop sulking." i said. i put one arm around her and squeezed her cheeks with the other. "we're only here for fun. stop taking it so seriously"

once we finished we got back into the car. leah drove us to the cafe and we sat down.

leah and lily got hot chocolate and i got a coffee.

it didn't take long to make and they came quite quickly.

"lily, what are we going to do about school?" i asked.

"i don't know. i don't want to go back to manchester. i like it here" she said. i looked at leah, unsure of what to say.

"uhm lily, technically we're not allowed to keep you here as we aren't your legal guardians. when your school finds out your not there anymore, they could report it to the police. then the police would eventually find you and take you back there anyway" leah said.
