The next morning, Harry, Brooklyn and I all go to the doctor's office. My thigh isn't getting any better and Harry's hand looks as if it's going to need stitches.

When we get there, the lady at the front desk, her name's Linda, calls out our name.

"Appointment for Styles," she calls out and Harry and I stand up. I balance Brooke on my hip and Harry takes my hand in his, we walk inside one of the rooms.

We're waiting for about ten minutes when our family doctor comes in.

"Hi Allison, Harry. Oh my goodness, is this Brooklyn," Doctor Payton asks.

"Yep. She's about five months now," Harry answers and then gives Brooklyn a kiss on the cheek. She giggles.

"Is she starting to talk yet," Dr. Payton asks.

"No. But we've been trying to get her to say mum or dad. She does make a lot of noises though," I answer.

"Well that's good. What can I do for you two today?"

"Well, um, my thigh got hurt and um, it hasn't stopped. It's badly bruised, but I want to make sure there's nothing else wrong with it. And also, Harry's hand is hurt badly," I answer.

"Okay well, let me take a look at Harry's hand first," Dr. Payton says. Harry sticks out his hand and Dr. Payton's brow furrows.

"How in the world did you do this? If you don't mind my asking," he says.

We trust our doctor a lot. Harry tells him the story.

"Well, you've done some serious damage to your hand. But, I bet you did even more damage to that guys' face. You'll definitely need a couple stitches. Now, what about you Mrs. Styles," he asks me. I smile inwardly. Mrs. Styles.

"Well, I just was wondering if you could check it out. I don't want anything serious to have happened to it and I don't get it checked out."

"Let's take a look then," Dr. Payton says. I'm wearing shorts today, so I roll them just a little bit higher so he can see my thigh. It's turned an ugly, deep shade of purple and it hurts like hell.

"Allison, I don't know what to tell you except, just wait. It is extremely, badly bruised though. If you have any other problems, please let me know," he says.

"Oh, and, today's also Brooklyn's first doctor's appointment. So, we'd like to get that taken care of too," Harry says.

"No problem. I'll be right back," Dr. Payton says and then exits the room.

"Allison, that look horrible," Harry says. He's staring at the huge bruise on my thigh.

"Well, thanks! It hurts like hell though," I say and then laugh. I stare down at the floor, Brooklyn's asleep in her carrier. I can tell Harry's looking at me. Waiting for me to tell him everything. He knows there's more to the story than what I was telling him.
