Chapter 15

"Naka pag decide na po ako, sa france na po ako mag aaral." I've chosen to prioritize my own self-respect and self-worth.

I'll be staying at my dad's place tonight, and our flight is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Lahat ng gusto kong mangyari ay maayos na. Pati mga gamit ko na dadalhin sa France including my beloved books, hindi pwedeng mawala iyon.

Na-contact na rin ako regarding sa entrance exam ng university na napili kong pumasok, and my dad has a connection at that university so madali na lang na makapasok doon pero kailangan pa rin lumusot sa entrance exam. Pierre University.

According sa research ko, France is an excellent choice for any international student. It is a welcoming country with an interesting and diverse culture. It also has many specialist schools that are internationally renowned.

"Wag kang mag-alala sa gastos, Xena. Focus on reviewing and passing the entrance exam. I want to ensure that my investment in your education pays off," he said calmly, crossing his legs as he read from his medical book.

"Dad, wag niyo po akong i-spoil me masyado. I don't want to get used to having everything handed to me," I replied, glancing at my own book and reading some articles.

Tinuruan ako ni Mommy kung paano balansehin ang lahat ng bagay. Hindi pwedeng sobra pero hindi pwedeng konti lang, dapat sakto ang lahat.

He nodded, understandingly. "I'm trying to make up for all those years I wasn't with you. But don't worry, I know my boundaries too, daughter," he assured me.

It was clear to both of us, our love for books was something we shared deeply.

"Okay fine, you win." Sumuko rin agad ako, kung hindi lang siya doktor ay iisipin kong abogado siya.

"Hindi ka pa matutulog? It's late, maaga pa tayo bukas." He stands up and stretches his arms. My father is really a good looking man, he's handsome as brother Lexus. While I'm more of my mother's feature.

"Matutulog na rin po, isang chapter na lang."  Sabi ko at tumango na lang siya. "Good night, Dad."

"Good Night, Xena." He kissed my head and walked his way to the stairs.

Ihahatid ako bukas ng mga kaibigan ko sa airport kahit na may klase pa sila, and na-touch ako don, alam mo yon? Kaya nilang lumiban at hindi makasabay sa klase para lang maihatid ako.

Natulala ako ng ilang oras. Eto na naman, inaalala ko na naman siya.

I understand how frustrating it is to find myself preoccupied with thoughts of him again. It's difficult to deal with this situation, especially when I'm hurting, yet he continues to occupy my mind. After the day he pleaded with me, he hasn't reached out again. He's likely busy preparing for his wedding. Hah.

My thoughts of him suddenly stopped when my phone rang and showed up an unregistered number.

I picked it up. "Hello?" I said, pero buntong-hininga lang ang naririnig ko sa kabila, and that gives me shivers down my spine. It's him! It's Lavin! "L-Lavin?" I cried out. I stood up at nagpunta sa kwarto and locked up myself.

"I'm sorry, Xena. Please don't end this call. I know you're leaving tomorrow, so please allow me to hear your voice one last time. Hmm? For the last time, please let me say that I love you and that you're the only woman I'll ever love until the end. Even if they tie me to someone else, you're the only woman that I will love."

I sobbed. " L-Lavin." Humikbi ako kaya tinakpan ko ng kamay ang bibig ko.

"Hush, don't cry. I love you, Alexena Alaina Miller. Enjoy your journey to the fullest. Be safe there, take care of yourself. Let's end this. I know you'll be better without me, and now I'm ending this as you've wished for so strongly. Goodbye, Xena. I love you," he said, and just like that, he ended our relationship.

I cried, and cried. Again and again. I tried to contact him once again but he didn't pick up his phone. My hands were shaking, and my throat felt suffocating. My tears can't stop falling down.

I love you Lavin. Sa tingin ko ay hindi na ako makakabangon pa sa pagkakahulog ko sayo, pero sana kaya kong tabunan ang mga kakulangan sa buhay ko habang wala ka na.
