Chapter 37 - Wedding

The sun was setting, casting a golden hue over the entire garden. Weird naman, right?

The air was filled with the soft murmur of guests and the sweet scent of blooming flowers. I stood at the back, watching Lyxa and Lexus exchange vows under an archway adorned with white roses and ivy.

Lyxa looked radiant in her gown, a vision of elegance and grace. Her eyes sparkled with happiness, and there was an ethereal glow about her that seemed to enchant everyone present. Lexus, too, looked dashing, his usually composed demeanor softened by the palpable love he had for Lyxa.

As the officiant spoke, I couldn't help but feel a swell of emotion. It wasn’t just the beauty of the ceremony that moved me, but the journey that had brought us all here. I remembered the battles we had fought together, the moments of doubt and despair, and the bonds that had grown stronger through adversity.

My gaze wandered through the crowd, and I spotted Lavin standing nearby. He was dressed impeccably, his suit perfectly fitted, highlighting his strong frame. His hair was neatly combed back, and there was a calm confidence in his eyes. I approached him, a smile playing on my lips.

"Lavin, you look so handsome," I said, my voice warm. "Ang gwapo mo ngayon. You clean up well."

Gosh! Lavin really look good pag may karga siyang bata!

He chuckled, a slight blush coloring his cheeks. "Thanks, Xena..."

I grinned, giving him a playful nudge. "Seriously, Lavin, you look really good. Parang model ka sa suot mo."

He smiled back, his eyes twinkling. "Yeah, I know, Xena. It’s a special day, after all." Hambog! Then he looked at me more closely. "By the way, you look stunning tonight. Ang ganda-ganda mo. That dress suits you perfectly."

I felt my cheeks warm at his compliment. "Thank you, Lavin," I said softly. "It means a lot coming from you."

As we stood there, watching the ceremony unfold, I couldn't help but notice the glances from other women.

Lavin had always been popular, but tonight, it seemed like every girl in the room was eyeing him. I saw a few whispering to each other, their eyes darting in his direction, admiration plain on their faces.

I leaned in closer to Lavin, feeling a twinge of possessiveness. "Looks like you have quite the fan club tonight," I said teasingly.

He glanced around, then back at me, a smirk on his lips. "They're just being friendly," he said, but his eyes told me he was enjoying the attention.

"Friendly, huh?" I raised an eyebrow. "Well, just so you know, I'm here to keep an eye on you. Hindi kita hahayaan maagaw nila." I rolled my eyes.

Lavin laughed, a deep, genuine sound that made my heart skip a beat. "I'd rather be here with you anyway," he said, his voice soft and sincere.

As we continued to watch the ceremony, I felt a surge of happiness. Despite the attention he was getting, Lavin chose to be with me. And in that moment, surrounded by the love and joy of our friends, I knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, we would face them together.

The reception was in full swing, the garden transformed into a magical wonderland of twinkling fairy lights and elegant decor.

The air was filled with laughter, clinking glasses, and the soft hum of music.

I stood by the edge of the dance floor, watching as Ate Lyxa and Kuya Lexus shared their first dance as a married couple with their makulit na anak. I laughed.

Lavin appeared by my side, offering me a glass of champagne. "Here you go," he said with a warm smile.

"Thanks, Lavin," I replied, taking the glass. Our fingers brushed briefly, sending a pleasant shiver down my spine. "This is beautiful, isn’t it?"

He nodded, his gaze lingering on me. "It is. But I have to say, you're the most beautiful thing here tonight."

Tangina! Naiihi yata ako!

I felt my cheeks warm again, and I laughed softly. "You keep saying that, baka maniwala na ako."

"You should," he said, his eyes twinkling. "It's true."

As the song ended and the guests applauded, a new, slower tune began to play. Lavin turned to me, holding out his hand. "May I have this dance?"

I hesitated for a moment, then placed my hand in his. "I'd love to."

He led me to the dance floor, and we joined the other couples swaying to the music.

Lavin hand was warm on my waist, and I felt a sense of comfort and rightness being so close to him. We moved in sync, our steps effortless, as if we had danced together a thousand times before.

"You really do look stunning tonight," he murmured, his breath warm against my ear.

"Thank you, Lavin," I replied softly. "And you look incredibly handsome."

We danced in silence for a while, enjoying the closeness and the moment. Around us, I could see the envious glances of other women, but I didn't care. Lavin was here with me, and that was all that mattered.

As the song came to an end, Lavin leaned in closer, his lips brushing my ear. "I’m glad you're here, Xena. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

"Me too," I whispered back, feeling a surge of happiness.

We stepped off the dance floor, but Lavin kept his arm around my waist, guiding me to a quieter corner of the garden. The night air was cool and refreshing, and the stars above us sparkled like diamonds.

"So," he said, turning to face me. "What’s next for us, Xena?"

I looked into his eyes, seeing the same mix of determination and warmth that had drawn me to him in the first place. "Whatever it is, we'll face it together," I said, smiling. "Kahit ano pa yan."

Pakasalan mo ako. Charott. Ang landi! Kakabreak niyo lang ni Harvey! Mahiya ka!

He nodded, his expression serious. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

We stood there for a moment, the world around us fading into the background. In that instant, everything felt perfect.

The challenges of the past and the uncertainties of the future seemed distant, overshadowed by the strength of our bond.

As the night wore on and the festivities continued, Lavin and I rejoined the celebration, but we stayed close to each other, sharing laughter, stories, and dreams.

Surrounded by friends and love, I knew that whatever came next, we would be ready to face it, side by side.
