SNIPPETS OF PARIS
>>>>–––– ❤️ ––––<<<<

Neha immersed herself in capturing the artistic surroundings with the retro charm of her Polaroid camera, a thoughtful gift from Siddharth. As she focused on sculptures and art, her lens accidentally caught something that made her frown. Of Siddharth sitting in solitude, absentmindedly staring at his feet, fingers playing with the red thread on his wrist.

He was bored.

A realization struck Neha, a pang of guilt for inadvertently neglecting Siddharth amid her artistic exploration. She realized she never even asked if he was okay visiting these places.

Suddenly, the allure of the surroundings faded, and nothing seemed as captivating. Without hesitation, she approached Siddharth,

Namba polam

Yen? Yennachu? Ippo dhane vandhom?

Illa paravala polam

Siddharth trailed behind Neha, observing her take her bag from him and walk ahead, a hint of concern etched on his face.

Neha yennachu?

He couldnt help but ask, she pouted and said,

Na unna romba torture pandren lae?

Siddharth's frown deepened, puzzled by the notion that Neha might be getting such an idea. In truth, he relished every moment of their exploration together. He cherished witnessing Neha's excitement, from her eager anticipation in queues to the wide-eyed wonder she expressed in museums. The tired but content smile that adorned her face when she fell asleep in the car itself brought him joy.

Na apdhi sonnena?

Neha scratched her head,

Illa, ana innum 2 days dhan iruku aprom veetuku poiruvom. Nee dhan suthi pakkanumnu aasai pathae, ana ennala anju naal school trip madhiri waste achu

Siddharth sighed, he placed his hands on his waist and asked,

Ivlo dhana?

Neha nodded, not understanding how he could minimize it.

Nee enjoy panna'lae? Unaku jolly'ah irundhuchula?

Neha nodded her head with uncertainty,

Appo nee adhula mattum dhan focus pananum

But I feel guilty that you could-

Never feel guilty for being happy, yaarukagavum

Siddharth firmly put a stop to her rasing questions, he smiled,

Enaku unmaila ye pudikilana, I wouldn't have joined you, you're not a kid to need me. I did because I wanted to be with you. Plus,...

Siddharth's smile broadened as he observed Neha's flabbergasted expression. With a nonchalant ease, he reached for her bag, slinging it over his shoulder. The casual gesture conveyed both his familiarity and attentiveness as they continued their stroll.

Na unaku suthi kaatadhan aasai pathen

Neha looked up, blinking in surprise.

Adhuku enaku oru naal eh podhum

Ore naal'ah?

Siddharth hummed, nodding his head.

Oru naal'la yenna panna mudhiyum? Inga time odhradhae theriya maatudhu. Adhukulla 5 days pochu

Doctor amma, oru naal'la yevlovo pannalam. Paris is a place like that. Picnic polam, cycling polam-

Idhellam namba oor laye panlam

Neha deadpanned, Siddharth sheepishly smiled,

Ana indha oor'la date poramadhiri, romance panra madhiri namba oor'la irukadhula?

Neha abruptly stopped in her tracks, whipping her head around to Siddharth. He found himself in the classic "uh-oh" moment, realizing he might have stepped on a verbal landmine.

I mean oor suthuradha sonnen

He ranted — Comedy of errors, starring Siddharth. They were standing facing each other on a side lane as Neha still kept her scrutinising gaze on Siddharth,

Unaku avlo guilt ah pesama en kuda naaliki oor sutha variya?

Fingers crossed, Siddharth awaited Neha's response. Instead, he found her staring at him with a quizzical expression, eyebrows furrowed. The hopefulness in the air took a nosedive, and Siddharth started to squirm in discomfort.

Yen ma apdhi paakurae?

Un thalaila aniki adi paatucha?

Yen?

Nejamave neeya dhan ipdhilam pesuriya?

As Siddharth observed Neha's mischievous smirk, a realization slowly dawned on him. He maintained a poker face at her.

Neha, on the other hand; Confused by the recent changes in his behavior,  questioning the newfound jovial and romantic side he had been revealing, had her own theory – maybe Siddharth's head injury from the other day caused this unexpected shift in his personality.

Illa unaku idhellam varaadhu nu nenachen...

Test drive pogama car'ah kora solla kudhadhu

Ehn?

Onnu illa

Siddharth sulked as they strolled along. Neha couldn't help but revel in the freedom of walking unburdened, swinging her arms back and forth while Siddharth dutifully carried her bag. Clearing her throat, she playfully inquired,

So what are we doing? At this "date"?

She made sure to make the air quotes clear so he wouldn't blabber again. Siddharth shrugged,

I thought I could show you the things that I like doing in Paris

In just one day?

Yeah

Neha adamantly dismissed the notion of being content with just one pre-planned day in Paris. Even after spending five days in the city, it felt like it was never enough for her.

Naaliki neeye paaru, theriyum

That night, ensuring Neha was in deep slumber, Siddharth quietly slipped onto the balcony and made a brief call to confirm all the reservations he had arranged. Glancing back at Neha's peaceful sleeping form, he eagerly anticipated the dawn of a new day.

The excitement was palpable; Siddharth was planning a surprise date for his wife.
