Nanga illama nee thaniya yennama pannuvae?

( What will you do without us?)

Adhellam na pathukuren ma, neenga yevlo naal unga velaiyelam vitutu irupinga?

( I will take care of myself ma, how long will you be with us leaving all your works undone?)

Neha spoke to Vasundhara as she helped her pack, her voice laced with gratitude and determination. Earlier that morning, Neha had overheard Joseph's phone call with David, where he explained that he couldn't return to the village because he needed to be there for her.

Neha recognized that both Joseph and Vasundhara, along with Siddharth, had put their jobs on hold just to take care of her. It had been a month, and Neha knew she couldn't let this go on any longer. She felt a deep sense of responsibility and was resolved to ease their burdens, even if it meant pushing herself to recover faster.

Hence, Neha had advised and convinced her parents to return home and finish their work, reassuring them that they could come back once they were truly free. Both Joseph and Vasundhara knew that would take a very long time, and they were worried about leaving their children during such a difficult period.

However, Neha's determination and insistence made it clear that she wanted them to go. Despite their concerns, they realized that staying indefinitely wasn't feasible and reluctantly agreed to her request, trusting that Neha and Siddharth would manage in their absence.

Siddharth quietly watched his wife help her parents pack. He knew what was running through her mind, but he wanted to address the matter alone with her. When Neha was asked by Joseph to go to Joseph's room to fetch something he needed, Siddharth felt a pat on his shoulder and turned to find Joseph, who assured him to go ahead. Siddharth wordlessly smiled and followed Neha into the room.

Neha turned around and found Siddharth leaning against the doorframe with his hands shoved into his pockets. She smiled at him, noticing his questioning gaze. Sensing he wanted to talk, she waited for him to speak first.

Yenna?

( What?)

Nejamave avangalukaga dhan avangala kelapuriya?

( Are you really sending them off for their sake?)

Neha paused what she was doing, her fingers fumbling with the bottle of perfume she was holding. She slowly turned around and smiled at him, nodding slightly. However, Siddharth noticed that her smile did not reach her eyes. The unspoken pain and exhaustion were evident, making his heart ache for her even more.

Ama

( Yes)

Poi solladha Neha, adhu unake pudhikadhu

( Don't lie Neha, even you don't like that)

Neha let out a resigned sigh, she looked away from him.

Enaku yellathayum marakanum Siddharth

( I need to forget everything Siddharth)

Siddharth approached Neha, closing the door behind him. He went and stood behind her, noticing how tightly she was clutching the perfume bottle, her knuckles turning white. Resting his head on her shoulder, he gently touched her fingers, slowly unlacing them from the bottle. Neha crumbled under his embrace, leaning back into his comforting hold. He felt her tremble slightly as the tension began to release from her body. Siddharth's heart ached for her, knowing how much she was struggling to keep it all together,
