Morning Sickness
>>>>———— ♥️ ————<<<<Neha and Siddharth lay lazily on the bed, their hands intertwined as they watched Kaattupoochi sleeping peacefully nestled against Neha's abdomen. Neha gently caressed the kitten's head, a serene smile playing on her lips as Siddharth let out a contented sigh. He shifted, resting his head on Neha's chest, causing her to chuckle softly at the gesture. Suddenly, a question popped into Siddharth's mind, prompting him to speak up.
Neha
Hmm?
Usually pregnant'ah irukuravanga yeppo paaru weak'ah irupanga, indha morning sickness adhu idhu'nu solli, unaku yen apdhi yedhum illa?
( Usually pregnant people appear a bit tired and weak all the time, due to morning sickness and stuff, but why don't you have any of those?)
Yen da vaiya vekirae?
( Why would you wish for it?)
Siddharth looked up at his wife with a deadpan expression, while she shook her head in disappointment. However, he didn't say anything, or he couldn't. Over time he had come to realize that when her moods went up and down so did the respect he received.
Siddharth let out a defeated sigh, surrendering to the unpredictable whims of his wife's mood. With a resigned gesture, he laid his head back on her chest, accepting his fate.
Naane nalla vela apdhi yedhum illanu yosikiren
( I was just feeling grateful that I don't have any of those)
Illa unusual'ah irunche adhan ketten
( I mean it seemed unusual, so I asked)
As far as I know, adhulla oru prechana'yum illa, apdhiye irundhalum naaliki checkup time'la solliruvanga
( As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with that, if there is we'll know during the check up tomorrow)
Siddharth hummed nodding his head, before another question popped in his mind and he asked,
Do you think it'll be a boy or a girl?
Neha chuckled and knocked on his head with her soft knuckles as she said,
Ippo theriyadhu Siddharth
( We're not going to know it now Siddharth)
Siddharth's lips formed an 'o' in surprise at the information, his mind already spinning with possibilities as the family cuddled together, preparing to drift off to sleep. Little did they know, a series of surprising twists awaited them the next morning, promising to shake up their world in unexpected ways.

True to his word, Neha woke up to feeling nauseating and ran to the washroom. Siddharth woke up to the sound of Neha retching in the washroom, her morning sickness making an unwelcome appearance. Concerned for his wife, Siddharth called out to her, only to be met with a sharp "Go away!" from inside. Startled but undeterred, Siddharth sprang into action, deciding to gather Neha's clothes and towel in anticipation of her needs.
When Neha emerged from the washroom, she was met with Siddharth's polite grin, his readiness to serve evident in his demeanor. However, her glare quickly wiped the smile from his face, leaving him looking sheepish and apologetic.
Ippo unaku vandhi vandhudhuku naannerthu ketta kelvi dhan karanam, adhane?
( The reason you just threw up is because I asked you yesterday, right?)
Neha didn't utter a word, her actions speaking volumes as she snatched the clothes and towel from Siddharth's outstretched hand before slamming the door shut once more.
Nenachen
( I knew it)
Siddharth muttered under his breath, resigned to taking a shower in the adjacent bathroom to avoid disturbing Neha's morning routine any further. As he stood under the spray of water, he couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of his wife's notorious tardiness, knowing all too well that he'd likely be waiting patiently in the living room for her to emerge, as he always did.
As Neha descended the stairs and found Siddharth slumped at the dining table, she couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for her earlier harshness. With a softened expression, she quietly approached him and took a seat beside him, her presence offering silent apology and reassurance. Siddharth glanced up at her with a mixture of relief and affection, grateful for her understanding and ready to put their morning hiccup behind them.
With a mischievous glint in his eye, Siddharth unveiled the carrot upma he had prepared, eliciting a surprised expression from Neha. Despite her initial hesitation, she was touched by his thoughtful gesture. Siddharth's reassuring wink and playful gesture to "zip his lips" brought a smile to her face, melting away her worries. As she savored the comforting flavors of the dish, Neha couldn't help but wrap her arm around Siddharth's, gratitude and affection intertwining in the simple gesture.
Siddharth sighed in relief, good for him

Morning sickness is not something for you to worry about, sila per'ku adhu romba extreme'ah irukum, sila per'ku suthama irukaadhu. If it makes you feel better I'll prescribe some meds to help you keep it in control, if you need it
( Morning sickness is not something for you to worry about, some people have the worst of it, some don't get it at all. If it makes you feel better I'll prescribe some meds to help you keep it in control, if you need it)
Adhe madhiri en vai'ya adhaka yedhachum tablets kedhaikuma?
( Could there be any other meds that could help me to control my mouth?)
Siddharth's question caught the attention of Dr. Renuka, Regina, and Neha, their heads snapping towards him in unison. Sensing his wife's disapproving gaze even from the corner of his eye, Siddharth chuckled sheepishly before bravely posing his query.
Illa na vai vecha dhan sila vishiyamlam nadhakudhunu sila per sonnanga adhan..
( No, some people think that somethings happen only because I talk about them so yeah..)
Renuka and Regina struggled to contain their laughter, exchanging amused glances as they observed their colleague's glare directed at her husband. Siddharth turned slowly, meeting Neha's narrowed eyes with a sheepish grin, fully aware of her unwavering stance. He shrugged his shoulders innocently, a silent plea for forgiveness evident in his expression.
Unakaga dhan ma ketten
( I'm asking for you)
Adhuku marundhu yedhum kandhupudhikala, training venumna try pannalam
( There aren't any meds invented for that, but you could try training)
Regina's suggestion prompted an obedient nod from Siddharth, eliciting a chuckle from Neha, who found it hard to maintain her frustration. Renuka closed Neha's test reports and began,
Scan'ah start pannirlama?
( Should we start the scan?)
