Siddharth awoke to the gentle touch of sunlight on his face, stirring him from sleep. As he sat up, his gaze automatically shifted to the empty space beside him. Confusion creased his forehead as he scanned the room, finding it devoid of her presence. With a puzzled expression, he ventured out of the bedroom, following the scent of breakfast wafting from the kitchen.

There she was, standing by the stove, a focused expression on her face as she prepared breakfast. Siddharth's frown deepened at her lack of acknowledgment, a pang of unease fluttering in his chest. He hesitated for a moment, observing her silently, before tentatively clearing his throat to announce his presence. Despite his efforts, she offered no reaction, continuing to work with an air of detachment.

They sat at the dining table, a noticeable distance separating them despite the close quarters. Siddharth's attempts at conversation were met with only fleeting glances from Neha, her attention firmly fixed on the screen of her mobile phone. Despite his efforts to engage her, she remained seemingly unaffected, engrossed in whatever held her focus on the device. Siddharth's frustration simmered beneath the surface as he searched for a way to bridge the growing gap between them.

After the last bite was taken, Neha's movements became purposeful and swift. Without so much as a word, she rose from her seat and swiftly made her way to the coat rack, snatching her jacket in a determined motion. "Na jogging poganum," she muttered under her breath, her voice barely audible as she threw the words over her shoulder before disappearing out the door. Siddharth sat at the dining table, stunned by her sudden departure, his jaw hanging slightly ajar as he watched her leave.

Neha stood by the tranquil lake in the heart of the park, her hands buried deep within the pockets of her jacket. The gentle ripples of the water mirrored the turmoil in her mind. Despite Siddharth's efforts, she couldn't shake the feeling that maintaining a deliberate distance was necessary.

She wrestled with a tangle of emotions, a mix of fear and uncertainty gnawing at her heart. For the first time in a long while, Neha felt like she was truly discovering herself, embracing a life that was uniquely hers. But a nagging fear crept in.

What if Siddharth asked her to return home with him? Will she be to say yes? Or no? She dreaded the prospect of being caught in the crossroads once more, torn between a path driven by selfish desires and one guided by love.
