A true life-saver
>>>>———— ♥️ ————<<<<Neha awoke to the alarm, her senses gradually coming to life. As she reached out to silence the rhythmic chime, she felt a delightful weight on her left shoulder. Turning her gaze, a tender smile graced her lips as Siddharth lay beside her, his head nestled on her shoulder. The embrace of the bolster, once a divider, now served his teddy bear.
The room, adorned with familiar belongings, created a haven where the boundaries of space seemed to dissolve. With a touch of curiosity and a surplus of time, Neha shifted to face Siddharth. Her fingers delicately traced the contours of his hair. Siddharth, in peaceful repose, bore a subtle pout.
Neha couldn't resist playfully tapping Siddharth's nose with her finger. The room echoed with soft sounds—a contented sigh, a muffled whine—intertwining their shared moments with the gentle melody of the morning.
Chumma iru ma, na iniki school'ku pogala...
Neha muffled her laughter as Siddharth, in the depths of his dreams, mumbled away in a manner that revealed the childlike innocence that resided within him. It was a facet of her husband he often concealed, thinking it went unnoticed, yet Neha found it endearing and saw it more than he might imagine—a man who, in his heart, remained a child. With a tender kiss on Siddharth's forehead, she left the bolster for him to hold onto and went to freshen up.
Descending the stairs, Neha discovered Vasundhara wrestling with the buttons of the washing machine, an appliance that seemed to perplex her. Neha approached, her amusement evident,
Good Morning ma
Neha put in her clothes too and helped Vasundhara with the appliance. Vasundhara smiled in relief, her girl was a life-saver.
Adhula yendha button'ah thattanumnu oru voice note anupi vei ma, onnume puriya mattudhu
Neha chuckled,
Ok ma
She made coffee for everyone. Extra sugar for Siddharth, low sugar for Vasundhara and even lower for Joseph. Knowing that Joseph would still try to sneak more sugar into the beverage, Neha had established a strict rule: the sugar stash remained hidden in the last corner cabinet, its location a well-guarded secret.
As Neha stirred the beverages and Vasundhara worked on the chutney, a warm hand snaked around her waist, prompting a gasp to escape her lips. Startled, Neha turned swiftly, locking eyes with Siddharth and encountering his mischievous smile.
Amma irukanga!
Neha whisper-yelled, Siddharth casually shrugged his shoulder before he pressed a loud sloppy kiss on his wife's cheek.
Indha palli onnu yeppa paaru, chuk chuk'nudhu. Adhu yenga irukunu kandhupudichi kollanu-
As Vasundhara turned around mid conversation, she didn't expect to find her son pulling away from Neha, she scrutinized at him. The room held a brief pause, a silent exchange of glances between mother and son,
Nee yeppa da vandhae?
Na vandhu 20 varsham mela achu
Vasundhara's scrunched her eyebrows, getting even more suspicious at him, Siddharth grabbed his coffee from the tray Neha held, not before passing a wink at her he slipped away from the kitchen.
Ivan yeppa vandhan-
Amma na appa'ku coffe kuduthutu varen
Neha too escaped, leaving Vasundhara pondering.
Joseph was watering the plants, a content smile on his face as Neha handed him his drink. Just before she could leave, he reminded her,
Aprom Neha, na unaku oru seeds list anupi veikiren, varumbothu vangitu variya?
Seri pa
Joseph smiled at his daughter, there was never a no from her — she was a life saver. He continued his gardening work while Neha went back in, helped Vasundhara to tidy up the kitchen.
Served breakfast to both the parents and had hers too, after which she went up to her room to take ger belongings to work.
Standing in front of the mirror while brushing her hair, she felt a familiar presence. Siddharth, freshly showered, came up behind her, resting his head on her shoulder as he admired his wife up close. Neha couldn't help but smile with a sigh, appreciating these simple yet beautiful moments.
Neha smiled with a sigh,
Unga amma thedra palli inga dhan irukunu sollava?
Siddharth deadpanned earning a chortle.
Neha...
Hmm?
Ponnuma?
Ponnum dhan
Siddharth clicked his tongue, playfully bumping his wet hair against Neha's face, a pitiful pout playing on his lips. Despite his playful attempts to make her stay, Neha remained unfazed, as no matter how many leaves she takes from the hospital, Siddharth never seems to get enough.
Yen iniki practice illaya?
Iruku dhan
Aprom yena?
Boring
Neha turned around and playfully poked her finger on his chest,
Vara vara unaku romba kozhupu vechu pochu
Grinning shamelessly Siddharth pulled her in for a kiss, his daily quota before she leaves to work. Neha wrapped her hands around his neck and tip toed to her comfort. She had mastered a thing or two in kissing, for the past one month since Paris happened Siddharth had made sure she caught up with him.
As he finally let her go,
Ippo? Poganuma?
He eagerly waited for a favourable, but it was yet another day Neha saying,
Poganum

Neha settled into her car, sighing as she placed her things beside her on the passenger seat. Looking at the house, she reflected on the people who needed her. The hospital, her next destination, held even more individuals relying on her.
This feeling of being needed provided her with a sense of importance, She was important
And what could possibly go wrong?
