Third point of view.
It had been more than two week since you moved out of Mikey's house, and even though you were adjusting to the change, something felt oddly empty.
You'd thrown yourself into studying, trying to keep your mind on the exams that were coming up. Your exams were right around the corner so your focus needed to be on that, no distractions.
But that didn't mean you didn't think about Mikey.
The visits were fewer, and you couldn't help but notice that they felt... different. It wasn't anything Mikey said or did. In fact, he was as easygoing as ever during your occasional visits. It was just a quiet shift, like something had changed without either of you really acknowledging it.
And when you couldn't see him in person, you'd settle for the calls. They did justice, to an extent, but it wasn't the same. The sound of his voice through the phone felt distant somehow. You couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right.
But then, maybe it wasn't all that wrong either. Things were just different now. The school year was ending, the pressure mounting with every exam. You and Mikey were both moving toward different things, with your future ahead of you.
And that was part of growing up, wasn't it?
You leaned back in your chair, staring at the ceiling, the notes long forgotten on the desk.
You think maybe you'd figure it out. Eventually.
The cool breeze hit your face as you stepped outside, needing some space. You'd been cooped up studying for hours, and it was starting to get to you. A walk seemed like the perfect escape.
You wandered aimlessly, letting your feet guide you through familiar streets until you found yourself at the park near Hinata's apartment. But then, your eyes caught two figures in the distance, both bent down, focused on something, their backs to you.
The familiarity hit you almost instantly.
Takemichi and Chifuyu?
Brows furrowing, you walked closer, the grass underfoot crunching softly. Neither of them noticed your approach, so you called out to them casually.
"What are you two doing?"
Both of them flinched, their heads snapping around. Takemichi's eyes widened, and he immediately stood up, a sheepish laugh escaping him. "Oh, Y/n-san! What are you doing here?"
You tilted your head, unfazed. "I was just taking a walk and saw the two of you." Your eyes flicked to Takemichi's back. It seemed like he was trying to hide something behind him. "Why are you hiding that?" you asked, raising an eyebrow.
Takemichi's face reddened, and he quickly shook his head. "Hiding what? It's nothing at all." His response was defensive, and your suspicion only grew.
Before you could say anything, Chifuyu put a hand on Takemichi's shoulder. "Takemichi, it's no use hiding it anymore. Be a man and face it."
You blinked, still not sure what was going on. "What is going on here?"
Takemichi took a deep breath and stepped aside, revealing what had been hidden behind him. Your gaze landed on three empty polka-dot boxes, each surrounded by ribbon, sitting neatly on the ground.
You stared, confused. "What even is this?"
Chifuyu crossed his arms and gave you a knowing look. "Takemichi forgot to give Hina a gift for White Day. So now, he's trying to make it up to her with this."
