"I couldn't walk for a day," I state, keeping my voice low.

But Vante shakes his head and only pulls my body closer his with his arms wrapped snug around my waist.

I continue my protest when he doesn't let go. "I have to work,"

Vante's been insisting that we have breakfast together but I've got 4 separate labours to take charge of today, not to mention the emergency ones which could take up most of my day.

"Amore, it's just breakfast..." when he trails off, I raise a brow. "And I had a surprise for you at lunch,"

"Surprise?" I parrot and my brows furrow while think over what it could be.

He did say he wanted to go shopping... perhaps he wants to buy something for my room?

Either way, I shake my head, putting my mind to focus on my work life. My home life with Vante will have to be put on pause.

For the day, at least.

"Whatever your surprise is, Vante, it's gonna have to wait," I put both hands on his chest, ready to push myself off of him. "We can do the surprise at lunch time, and tonight I can surprise you with a blowjob, maybe,"

I speak fast and then push off of him. He doesn't fight back as he's frozen in what looks to be shock but seems more like he's trying to figure what emotion to use.

I giggle as I look over my shoulder and watch Vante stare at me with astonishment.

"D-Delilah!" He calls out but I walk faster and turn the corner.

Once I'm changed into my scrubs, I have one last look in the small mirror, flattening out the shirt and looking down at my body.

I let out a sigh. It's gonna be long until I can see my body this way again.

Why?

Well, I'm finally pregnant. I had my suspicions a while ago because of my mood changes and slight cravings.

But now the reality of actually having a baby inside me is quite scary.

I caress my stomach, sighing as the form is big enough to fit in my hand now. I can only hope it's a boy when I give birth, since that's what the contract says...

A throat is cleared and I turn my head to see my junior nurse, Andrew. He stands tall in the doorway and his grey eyes pierce into mine.

Even though he's my junior nurse, he can be a very dominating guy when he doesn't know it.

"Andrew?" I call to him, he seems like he's in his thoughts about something.

With a few blinks, his attention is back on me and he looks my body up and down with a curious look in his eyes. "You're pregnant?"

Though it's a whisper, the phrase being said out loud shocks me and my eyes widen in fear. Why must he be so frustratingly genius?

"Shhh," I say and mock a zip lock over my lips. "Yes, I'm— that. But you can't say anything, okay?"

He raises a brow and a grin draws itself across his features.

"Andrew," I warn in a scolding tone to which he replies:

"But you gotta tell Ethel," I sigh and pout. He shakes his head. "I'll tell her myself, and you know I'm bad at keeping a secret,"

Andrew winks before turning on his heels and exiting the room in a flash.

I roll my eyes, hurrying to close my locker and leave the room. I jog into the hallway and lightly punch Andrew on his arm when I catch up to him.

"Andrew, I'm serious. You can't tell anyone. They'll see it on the news anyway," the last part I mutter with irritation.
