Chapter thirty six

The light from inside Blitz's apartment illuminates Moxie's face as Blitz says, "What do you want?"

Moxie looking over at Blitz says, "Hey Blitz, I'm here with some bad news for you"

"Oh what is it now?"

"Me and Mille are uh... We're quitting." Moxxie says sheepishly

"Quitting? Quitting what?" Blitz says with a laugh

"I.M.P" Moxxie says carefully as if the words would hurt him.

"Oh" Blitz says, his voice showing the clear pain.

"I'm sorry." Moxxie says

Blitz without a word opens a portal and hops through. Stolas tries to follow him but Moxxie holds him back saying, "He needs to be alone for a moment. Regardless, I think I know where he is."

Blitz looks around the very familiar office. Now aware of how lonely it can be when no one else is there. The empty seats and vacant desks, a content reminder of who he will be missing.

Blitz thinks to himself 'No one is going to be able to do what they did. No ones even going to come close.'

Blitz now speaking out loud says, "I don't need them. I don't... I. Fuck." Blitz starts sniffing, holding back tears.

Blitz pausing for a moment to regain his composure takes out his phone. The bright light from the screen in the dark room hurts his eyes but he manages to call Mille.

"Hey Blitz... I'm guessing Mox told you?"

"Why?" Blitz says his voice showing that he is clearly upset.

"Blitz it's not safe anymore with those people after you and Stolas. Me and Moxxie are targets for them."

"I can protect you!" Blitz reasons.

"Blitz, it's not that easy. If it was me and Moxxie wouldn't even think about leaving."

Blitz passes for a moment and hangs up the call. He takes a seat in his chair and looks into the empty room.

The thought of his dream slipping away after all he sacrificed for it lights a fire in his soul. "All of this is Stella's fault! She's almost making me pick Stolas or my business." Blitz says out loud to himself.

A portal opens behind him that he doesn't hear. Moxxie, and Stolas walk through. Both a worried look on their faces as they see Blitz curls up in a ball crying on the floor. Silently weeping to himself.

"Blitzy? Are you alright?" Stolas asks, breaking the silence.

"I'm fine! I'm fucking fine just leave me alone!" Blitz replies.

"Sir- Blitz. I'm sorry." Moxxie says with a worried look on his face.

Blitz walks over to Moxxie and looks into his eyes and says, "If you stay safe that's all I can ask for. Just please don't forget me." Blitz pleads.

Moxxie with the same worried, panic filled expression says, "Of course Blitz."

Moxxie makes a phone call to Mille as Blitz and Stolas start to talk.

"So I'm losing it all?" Blitz asks.

"No dear, it's just a setback. Nothing some good recruitment posters can't fix." Stolas says, trying to lighten the mood.

"YOU CAN'T REPLACE THEM!" Blitz yells. "You just can't they're... They mean something to me."

"I know but this is a decision you have to let them make. I allowed you to make your own decision and look where we are now. It's all working out." Stolas reasoned.
