Haru was walking around. Watching Koneko train. Everyone was training under Azazel, everyone having their own personal training. But Haru was watching Koneko specifically. Using phantom so that even though he was in clear view Koneko couldn't see or feel Haru anywhere near her. Even when Haru was right next to her she couldn't see or sense him. But he could see her. The pain she was in and putting herself through.
Haru: {She's still pushing herself too hard. She's about to collapse from exhaustion. Though am I one to judge. I did that for years. Literally ripping myself apart. Hurting myself. But... I have healing powers. If Koneko does that... she'll get really hurt. I had my ways of dealing with pain, but she shouldn't be doing it this way.}
Just as Koneko was about to throw another punch towards the training bag Haru caught it. Koneko shocked by the sudden appearance of Haru. But she still had that sad, depressed look. She was training in the forest alone.
Koneko: H-Haru. Why are you here?
Koneko couldn't even muster up the energy to stay surprised. She was tired and hurt.
Haru: Why are you hurting yourself?
Koneko: I-I'm not. I'm training.
Haru: I know what hurting yourself looks like Koneko. I also know what pain feels like.
Koneko looked at Haru. He was being serious. But she still pulled away her hand.
Koneko: You may have been there but you don't know.
Haru looked at Koneko. He was there when Rias first met Koneko. He played a big part in saving her but took no credit for it because just as much as he saved her. He also let it happen. He wanted no credit for something he hated doing.
Haru: Your training too hard. It's hurting you. It won't help you progress properly. It's tantamount to self harm.
Koneko: Haru I'm fin...
Koneko just looked at Haru shocked. His appearance changed. He opened his Kimono up and took off his top. His face and body were covered in deep scars.
Haru: I was stuck in the dimensional gap alone. Only training and training. I burned and cut myself to make myself stronger. I didn't do it for long but I hit myself full force. I trained with weights until my bones broke, muscles snapped. I have healing powers Koneko yet I don't ever want to go that far again just because it was the only thing different I could do. The only different training, the different type of pain. Getting stronger is not worth that.
Haru changed to his regular appearance as he put back on his top and sealed back his kimono.
Koneko: I-I-I just... I don't want to get left behind. I'm so useless. And that power. I don't want to use that power. If I do... I'll become like my sister.
Haru gently hugged Koneko. A soft embrace.
Haru: Are you scared you'll get corrupted with that power?
She nodded.
Haru: Have you ever heard of the saying absolute power corrupts absolutely?
She again nodded.
Haru: I'm strong but even I don't have absolute power. I promise you things are not as they seem and you won't get corrupted.
Haru let go of Koneko as he stood back.
Haru: Your power isn't going to hurt anyone. So... hit me.
Koneko looked surprised at Haru. She didn't know it but in that hug Haru slowly healed Koneko so it was unnoticeable and relived some exhaustion.
Koneko: W-What?
Haru: You didn't want to hurt anyone. You're not going to hurt me. You don't even have to hit me. Even if it's one step at a time, it's better than not walking forward what so ever. So first, reveal the ears.
Koneko: Haru I...
Haru: I promise it's going to be ok. I know you and your sister. You're nothing like your sister.
Koneko: You... you know my sister?
Haru: I do. Trust me when I say. She's not a terrible person. So please reveal the ears. I think a pair of cat ears would look really cute on you.
Koneko blushed.
Koneko: P... Perv!
Koneko punched Haru as he winced. Koneko got worried until Haru started laughing.
Koneko: ITS NOT FUNNY!
Haru: I'm sorry. But trust me ok.
Koneko looked at Haru as he was smiling. Slowly revealing her white cat like ears.
Haru: I knew they would look adorable!
Koneko: Degenerate!
Haru: My feelings still hurt you know!
Haru acted all hurt as Koneko looked. Giving a slight giggle at Haru.
Haru: Now one punch. I'm not asking you to always use your power or to fully embrace what you are right now. But realise it's not something to be afraid of.
Koneko got into stance.
Koneko: A-Are you sure?
Haru: You have cat ears ear and you haven't gone crazy yet. Full power! 1000%!
Koneko gave a small smile as she went as hard as possible and punched Haru. But Haru wasn't going to joke with this one. The wind made a burst but the punch did not phase him what so ever.
Haru: So do you feel like committing arson, murder? WORLD DOMINATION!
Koneko suddenly hugged Haru as she rested her head in his chest.
Koneko: Your weird.
Haru: Always have been. So... let's talk about you and Kiba kissing at the back of school.
Koneko: YOU WERE WATCHING?!!!
Koneko parted to look at Harus grin.
Haru: I see everything.
Koneko: THATS NOT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD BE SEEING YOU PERV!
Koneko went to hit Haru as he dodged. Hitting the ground as it smashed.
Haru: Or maybe when you started to dom him while making out.
Koneko: Haru... You... GET BACK HER YOU LIZARD!
Haru ran away as Koneko chased him. Koneko unknowingly using her Nekomanta form. Haru watched as she had a deep blushed but a smile on her face. Haru feeling proud that he helped. Slightly alleviating the pain he felt with her.
