Ch 26 - Higher Class

Grayfia and Haru appeared in a dark alley.  While it was perfectly clean it was still a dark alley in any sense. Haru looked around confused. The only thing in this back alley was a carriage.

Haru: I think you brought us to the wrong place.

Grayfia: Nope. This is definitely the right place my lord.

Grayfia opened the black carriage door as she gestured her hand to enter. Haru looked at her confused but entered in anyways. Moving over as Grayfia entered the carriage by his side. The carriage moving out of the back alley even without horses or any type of animal to pull it. Suddenly many black carriage surrounded the carriage. Then as they drove further down the road where people were celebrating as Haru looked out the window confused. People waving and cheering.

Haru: What is this? Why didn't we just teleport? Why are there so many people?

Haru was completely confused by what was happening. No of this was making any sense.

Grayfia: Well I have good news. Then extremely bad news.

Haru: Please give me the good news first.

Grayfia: The carriage was arranged and based on what others were talking about while watching your fight with Sirzechs, I'm pretty sure you're getting promoted to high rank. I think.

Haru: You think? What's the bad news then?

Grayfia: I think you're getting promoted to high class. But that may not be true. They may have just arranged this to use you, a Dragon God, for political gain and power by showing off to everyone.

Haru: Everyone?

Grayfia: *Sigh* Everyone.

Haru: Ok. Well I've never had any stage issues so I should be fine in front of the Underworld.

Grayfia: I meant everyone.

Haru: What?

Grayfia: The Heavens will know and nearly all other supernatural species that are connected to the underworld in some way. And before you ask why. This is the first time a Dragon God has ever sided with any faction before.

Haru: {Oh... Is this a bad thing?}

Grayfia tried to reassure Haru during the drive. Reminding him of what was going to happen just in case he forgot. And as the carriage stopped and Grayfia saw an opening she gave Haru a quick kiss as he looked at her in surprise. She was so strict about being the maid and when she was teaching him, the teacher. But when Haru looked at her in surprise she had a soft smile.

Grayfia: Your going to do well ok. I believe in you.

Haru smiled as he leaned in for another kiss. But Grayfia placed her hand in front as Haru stopped. Nearly kissing the hand.

Grayfia: You can get another, better one afterwards. Don't you have to present yourself.

Haru: You promise.

Grayfia: I would never lie to you... my lord~.

Grayfia leaned over. Haru thought he was going to get another kiss before they left, as she got closer and closer. But she instead opened the door behind Haru. Grayfia giggled before she adopted a serious look as she gestured out.

Grayfia: I hope you're ready.

Haru stepped out as there were barriers and people stopping civilians. All different looking races and devils. All cheering and celebrating. Haru looked around as it was kind of overwhelming. Haru walked through the large doors of the open cathedral as all the seats were facing the main walkway. All seating was high looking at Haru, all were strong devils. Haru estimated all high grade, at least medium. Haru walked forward as the powers in front of him were Satan class. Grayfia stood at the entrance of the cathedral as the doors closed behind her. Magic circles in the air of which he assumed were the broadcasting of this event.

Haru walked down as he stood at the front of the cathedral. Standing in front of an alter. Ajuka Beelzebub standing behind the alter.

Ajuka: We are here today to promote Haru Gakia. A Dragon God, who has given great achievements to the Underworld.

There was silence in the large hall as Haru looked around. Remaining faced forward only moving his eyes. He could hear the cheers outside. Loud shouts of excitement.

Ajuka: His achievement which are significant amounts of contracts and his largest, a military achievement. Finding valuable information about all three factions common enemy. The Unholy Angels. Not only finding out their ranks of power, but the physiology of a third of their ranks as well as well as the powers these monsters have.

There were loud cheers as Ajuka continued. Haru knelt down as is the part where he knew he'd have to. Where he was told his proclamation to hig...

Ajuka: I now proclaim Haru Gakia as an Ultimate Class Devil with the rank of Great King.

Haru: {What? Wait... isn't this a good thing? I'm now a higher rank!}

Ajuka handed Haru a certificate as he held onto it. Standing up and turning around. Showing it to all of those behind him. Haru with a big smile as he was a higher rank. Grayfia looked completely surprised but was happy that Haru was happy with his new promotion.

Haru turned back around as Ajuka was standing on the alter. A green magic spell causing a large black monument to emerge out of the ground. It's black crystalline colour glowing.

Ajuka: Now touch the monument with your magic and register yourself as an Ultimate Devil.

Haru raised his hand as he touched it. It didn't look like he was using magic because his energy was completely invisible to the naked eye.

Harus heart made a loud *THUMP* as the floor shook underneath him and the building around him. Haru felt slight stings over his body as he felt something change.

[Your species has changed to Devil Dragon God.]

[You have gained the powers: Language (F), Flight (F), Enhanced Physique (F), Night Vision (F).]

Evil Pieces were produced as Ajuka looked down at them in surprise.

Ajuka: Oh? {This hasn't happened before. Should I change it?}

Ajuka peeked at Haru and went back behind the monument.

Ajuka: {Actually... I think it will be fun to imagine peoples reactions when they find out. You're a lucky one Haru. Really lucky.}

Haru completely missed that the monument was turning a bright crimson as he stared at his golden transparent screens and smiled. Also missing Ajukas reaction behind the monument. Ajuka waking over to Haru with a small wooden box, carved with intricate patterns. Haru opened it up as there were 15 chess pieces. All a crystal look.

Ajuka: Now please present your wings to show your class as Ultimate Devil. Great King.

Haru: {Wings? Oh yeah. Hmmm. Ohhhh. I can uses that!}

Haru used his technique. Physical Control. A technique that gives you complete control over your own body, able to simply change into any body he wants, provided the knowledge of how to. Haru definitely had that knowledge after training his body the whole of this life. And studying his limits in his last.

Haru felt his wings as instead of 8 black bat like wings coming from his back. 8 large dragon wings came from his back. Purple and red lines resembling cracks decorating his wings on the same sides his eyes were.

Everyone gasped looking at them. Then that brief moment of shock turned to one of roaring celebration at Haru.

Now Haru just had to finish the most difficult part. Hearing many, many words of congratulations from the guests. However Grayfia came to his aid to help. Haru being overwhelmed with all the alliances and offers from many families and high ranking devils.
